Soundwave's alt mode is fairly silly/lame, but aside from the greeble disaster, his bot mode looks really REALLY nice. And at least, as lame/out there as his alt mode is, it's actually made out of his body, instead of essentially being to halves glued together in the middle. (and he can do his light pole/sensor mode, which is pretty rad)

Honestly the potp hot rod works pretty well if you ignore the leader bot mode

I think that Starscream's undercarriage was an inevitability considering what they were going for. They wanted a Tetrajet mode but then ALSO wanted a robot mode that resembles the Sunbow character model, which has a bunch of kibble from a vehicle that he just flat-out doesn't turn into. You can't really do both convincingly without a bunch of stuff not having anywhere to go.

I don't mind it too much. We have approximated one million Earth jets with that same look in robot mode. We even have a few space jets with space-jet-y robot modes like the War Within and FOC toys. This Starscream is something fairly new and I much prefer it to "Earth vehicle with greebles" or... whatever the hell Soundwave is.

Yeah, they did exactly what they do with damn near all jets. Its not exactly shocking, nor is it a deal breaker.

LoL, I can't think of anyone else from a recent mainline that is this bad. Everything is just hanging there. AND the chest. Just sitting there on the back. And it doesn't even fit flush, it has little corners popping up that you can see from the front. Universe 2.0 Silverbolt had the same 2 halves glued together vibe but at least he folded into a fairly tidy box.
(and they did a far better job with the OG Classics mold, which had a boxy body but left nothing just hanging...and the TR Targetmasters all managed to have minimal bot mode kibble)
But they didn't do EITHER convincingly. I really can't think of any reason the nose cone couldn't have been the legs in a refinement of how they did the Cybertron mold (which, while admittedly not having the neccesity to turn into a Sunbow bot, did this concept far far more successfully). Since they didn't actually follow the Tetrajet look, they could have made that nosecone look basically however they wanted to achieve the Seeker legs.

...and if you moved the legs to the nosecone, the arms would have been able to fold into the center for a smoother bottom and cleaner wings.

What's wrong with the robot mode? It's a little back heavy, but compared to, say, Chromia in the same line it's fine.

I don't know. I just don't really have a problem with Starscream. I'm pretty used to having a bunch of robot kibble beneath the jet mode at this point. Flywheels, the other jet in this line, does the same thing even though he gets to have his legs separate and become a tank! I also really like the "Cybertron-mode with a robot mode that's unchanged from his Earth-mode" thing it's got going on. It's like the cartoon!

sorry, i guess to me it's less that he's back heavy, and more that he's wearing almost his entire alt mode as a backpack.

And that Chromia mold and all it's prior offshoots was never something i was remotely interested in, so it really didn't even register.

It's mostly i'm salty that i've been waiting 13 years for a good classics Voyager seeker, and now we've gotten 2 in 2 years and they both suck.
(still waiting for a definitive Hot Rod too... but at least he has some passable options.)

Damn, Springer looks too good. If the seeker mold in this line isn't back heavy then I might consider collecting more from this line. Was going to skip this out for Studio Series but I'm on the fence now about this line lol.

I've never been too excited for T30 Springer, just couldn't get over the feet, they bugged me.

Judging by pics his legs are bigger than his arms. Perhaps some petite feet but that's it.

I actually really like his car mode, but his too low fin/wing, engine block on the chest and semi-gorilla arms kill him for me as a definitive Hot Rod.

The Titanmaster also made his head a little weird, I didn’t mind it on most guys like Kup and Blur, but Hot Rods bucket helmet is kind of part of his look to me. The Takara version fixed a few things, but also introduced the odd translucent chest.

Again, I like the figure, just not quite the perfect Hot Rod I’ve been waiting for. (Him and Classics are about even for me, each having strong points, each having problems)

The front of the PotP Rodimus was close, but the really screwed up the look of the wrist blasters on him.

I don't think it's the legs that are out of scale. I think it's the giant shoulder pads making his upper body look disproportionately bigger.
