Did like Cisco's constant attempts at being like every guy the girl dated. Although when they showed the muscular black guy i wondered where they were going with that. I just saw a big black guy. Hoo boy thank god they went gym rat. Also how simple is it to say "Hey everyone Cicada is trying to capture one of us. I've rewound time X number of times but someone dies each time. Everyone stay here or let's all stick together. Or at least everyone wear metal body armor on your back."
Loved the gag of having the pronunciation of "Ee-an" vs "EYE-an" be a running gag then in the final bit is is "Steven" and "Stefan" she can't get the name right ever.
I really liked the part where Barry uses the same broken coffee mug metaphor that Jay used on him to explain to Nora the dangers of time travel. So if Nora ever has kids does that mean this is going to become a family tradition of speedsters having to explain to their speedster child using a broken coffee mug metaphor? Also liked the Cisko stuff but really dude, she obviously liked you at the bar when you weren't even trying so why even pretend to be someone else at that point?
I don't want to link to a clickbait article, but seems there's word that Vibe/Carlos is leaving the show at the end of this season.
Don't you know, you can only do something once. If it doesn't work, oh well, you can never, ever, do it again. I'll admit, I have a soft spot for Groundhog Day style of storytelling, so I'm not overly hard on this episode, especially with the add-on that Vibe caught on quick. Still not that great, but at least I was entertained.
I can only speak for myself here, but I don't care about Firestorm. He's totally replaceable and I'm so indifferent I can't complain. If your argument is that the effects are cheap on LoT, you have a couple characters to choose from. There's no need to cherry pick one character. Also, you can't compare a title character to a member of a larger team. You expect the title character, Flash in the case, to do speedy Flash stuff. 2nd, for me personally I hold (held more accurately now) Flash to a much higher standard that LoT. We've seen how good Flash can be in S1. It's just gone so downhill. I love LoT, but the writers chose its current path to not take itself seriously. Having a story behind Flash no using his powers is getting lame. How long was he in this ep? 5 secs? Flash in jail, Flash in meta cuffs. Whatever. I'm not obsessed with Barry being in costume, but I do expect him to do speed stuff. If not, call this show Flash Friends. I'll be a tad hard. Speaking of meta cuffs, did NO ONE have any on hand to slap them on Cicada or maybe not let him get away? I mean come on.....
I'm not entirely sure Meta Cuffs would even work on Cicada the same way they do other Metals because remember the dagger is Meta Tech. It might limit his abilities because Cicada himself is a Meta too but it wouldn't completely stop the dagger from working. That said there are many other times in this series that issues could have solved by meta cuffs but they only come in when it's convienent to the plot. Also... Flash has basically been working on a team since day one. Oliver on the other hand started out working alone and the whole concept of Team Arrow developed much later in the series. Flash might be the title character but at this point all these shows are team shows. I think only the first two seasons of Arrow are really solo. And just because he's working on a team... who rarely ever actually do anything outside of Star Labs... doesn't mean it's not still a show about the Flash. When Barry spends half a season not being the Flash like Oliver wasn't the Green Arrow for half this season then we'll talk. And I really don't care that Legends is a team show, it still bugs me how little super heroing they do in that super hero series. I keep thinking they probably wouldn't be such huge screw ups if they'd actually use their powers more often. Ray is like the most useless person on the team because he has zero combat skills. He's nothing without his armor so why doesn't he use the armor more often? Honestly Sarah Lance is the only person with no powers or devices so she's just as powerful with or without being the White Canary but everyone else who has ever been on that team keep going into fights without powers or technology and that's really the only thing that makes them of any use.
True about the cuffs, but I mean ANYTHING to hold or slow him down to capture him would have been great here. I can't believe he got away after all that. I see how the little super heroing bothers people. But I think if the writers changed their stance at this point, it'd hurt the show. I think most of people that watch it now are enjoying how they can make fun of themselves. Not sure if any writers can turn it into a successful serious super hero show at this point.
Pretty sure I said this last week. Remember when The Flash was on this show? This is the most drawn out boring season ever.
No I'm pretty sure that was seasons 2 and 3... Mostly because having the main villain with the exact same powers for three seasons in a row got boring and repetative. It was great the first time they did it with Reverse Flash but Zoom and Savatar were just less interesting versions of Eobard Thawn. The Thinker was kinda boring too but for different reasons... I was still kinda excited to see someone other than yet another evil speedster for the first time ever. Cicada has provided a lot more action than big chair man.
Good points. I guess maybe I’m just tired of the sheer stupidity of the group when it looks like every week they should be able to defeat Cicada, only to let him escape every single time.
I think they may have hyped him up too much as the one villain Flash never caught and they're lazily trying to make that work until he inevitably catches Cicada at the end of the season. The idea is to show not tell and this seasons has mostly fallen into the trap of telling us how powerful Cicada is and not really showing it that much. His best scenes are when he's actually shown killing other metas, everything beyond that is when I can really understand the complaints about him. Not exactly boring but I'm not really sure how to sum up why he isn't working in a single word.

No it's just that the writing team on the show can't write season long villains, it only worked in the first season when they had more competent show runners and kind of in the second, but it fell apart mid season. So they just keep doing what they have since season 1 and the writing gets less and less believeable each season making their characters look worse and worse.
Flash is a favorite of mine, lots of enjoyment from watching. But... What irks me is how the multiverse is now abused. Seriously, a Wells that has brides in several? And then characters know they're on Earth-X, -38, etc#, as if there's a Rolodex of universes? That's just a bridge too far, some sloppy writing there. I cringe often at this. And enough Wells. Ditto for Reverse Flash wearing Wells mask. Cicada is probably the weakest villian yet, and one I'd never even heard of until now. It also seems the comic version if far different.
5x15 - King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd - Joe West is back and better than ever! He, along with J'onn J'onzz, are the best fathers in the "Arrowverse". - Flash and XS combine lightning to fire a super lightning blast. Now THAT was more rad than Dreamer's "dream energy" blasts! - I like to think that King Shark's connection to Tanya redeemed him and restored his humanity even after he was turned back. Maybe in time (and unlike the late Ricardo Diaz), he'll prove himself as a trusted and loyal asset to A.R.G.U.S. and an ally to Team Flash.
ARGUS really should just kill Grod. He's an animal and what do they do with animals that start killing people? They can argue the morality about killing a human but Grod was never human. Double tap him.
