Now, think about those of us that DO like the Go-Bots. This is possibly the shittiest thing I've seen since Black September.
As probably the only one who actually appreciates this, for what it’s worth I will chime in and say this: it reads like the old cartoons played out and that’s the draw. The reason why it seems that most people responding to this thread do not like it is because it’s not the typical transformer comic book type thing that you’re used to. No androgynous robots, no human like feelings towards each other, not drawn by your favorite artists. Yeah I get it most of you love shit On go bots like a dog loves to shit on a new rug but honestly folks... We’re getting something fresh and new about a toyline that gets no love. Just take a deep breath and relax.
I am a Go-bots fan and have been enjoying this series for what it is. I really enjoyed issue # 3. This series is the only comics I get now after I stopping getting comics on a regular basis. It is nice to have some new Go-Bots media out there. Sure would be nice for toy reissues or some new toys (Action Toys barely releases Machine Robo Toys nowadays).
I'm trying to remember the original 1980's song: "Gobots, Gobots! Gobots, Gobots! Gobots! Mighty Ro..." Sorry, way too complicated.
If this is what giving Gobots love & respect looks like, I’d hate to see what hating on it would be. The concept is ok, but the whole “Earth is actually Gobotron” would seem more original if TFP & TLK hadn’t both just done that. As is, this whole thing screams of no one caring & just using the Gobot name for whatever recognition it carries, when doing the same story with a completely new cast of robots would’ve worked better. It looks & feels like a low rent underground comic.
I'm with you guys on liking this new series. It's fresh and different, for a Go Bots story. And I don't really like the TV series but this is an interesting take with some neat easter eggs in it. I hope there's another mini-series after this is done.
I\'m in the boat of people who enjoy this series. I like the art, the story interests me. We now have an explanation for why Gobotron looks the way ot does, and why so many of these aliens have earth borne alt modes. Loving it so far!
On the contrary, I feel Scioli may be the only one left who actually cares enough to write something Go-Bot related in 2019 that treats them with even a little respect (as in more than just dime store Transformers or just some forgotten meme).
I guess the cover is nice. That’s all I can say that I genuinely like about these. The cover arts have never failed to look great and perfectly capture the style.
It does not read like the old cartoons played out. It reads like the mini comic strips that you would sometimes get with 80s toys, and those were always rubbish.
Never though I'll be pasting this into a comic book discussion thread as anything even remotely on point, but apparently... Anything goes. :X
