Just honest truth. I don't see it entirely as negative/depressing, though. Gives a better perspective that we've honestly had it pretty good, all things considered. Here, we're lamenting the loss of our youth as time goes on, while others are worrying about their next meal, next bill, etc. (And yes, I realize some of us here do that now.) We should be happy we can still do this while we can.

What's the alternative? Midlife crises? More bills? More debt, stress and worry? Currently, the times are downtrodden, depressing and deadly serious grim dark. People can be a fan of a product, series and still live their lives and move on. Transformers aren't my end all, be all. I have children to raise, I have family members to take care of, I serious things to think about. Transformers are my hobby, my escape. They don't dictate my world. They clearly don't mean a crap to today's youth. Just because we're the last hold outs doesn't make us somehow wrong, we're just enjoying the old days. There's nothing wrong with that. They're lasting memories for a reason. Today's kids will remember school shootings and mass terror attacks, we'll remember Transformers and He-Man. We had it better.

I pity today's kids, they never got the chance to be kids, we've forced them to be more before they were ready.

    We did this to ourselves.

Its a nice mall, best place for Transformer shopping is online anyway as amazon takes your american credit card, and sshipping most of the time is free. The best deals our on yahoo jp , which is kind of like their ebay, but there are a lot more hurdles to jump, as last time I was there they didn't take paypal or us credit cards. So you're stuck using a proxy or going through the hassle of getting some kind of japanese means of payment. It just didn't seem like it was worth the effort unless your there for awhile.

they would not keep making cartoons if they were failing to bring in the kids. if what I am hearing is true than a 2nd video game crash is coming. though I will not lie we are forcing those kids to grow up quicker to fix there grandparents mistakes and our generations inability to fix things ourselves. that last part of the sentence may be to political.

The gaming comparison is starting to go askew in the age of microtransactions and subscriptions. It shows greater susceptibility to the rental mentality.

You got PlayStation but I assume nobody here is a gamer so that's out of the question.

I don't wanna give up on this franchise either but I'm stuck in a world (city) that's turned into a dead wasteland for fans and the people around me are no fun anymore. It use to be perfect because going 10-12 years back; I felt it's influence everywhere and many others with the same interest. With bayverse, Botcon, Burger King, HUB, TFCC, TV Shows for all ages (TFP, BW, Animated etc.), Video games and TRU (all these element's that made the previous decade amazing) gone; everyone's lost interest and are now talking about rappers, DBZ, politics, sports etc. that I never cared about. My point: it's no fun being the sole survivor.

As for todays kids; It's not entirely our fault that they're like this. Both fortnite and youtube along with their demonic users are responsible as well.

we could still come back from this but the problem is that Hasbro's not making any efforts to bring some of the elements that I mentioned back. They're trying so hard to fix paramounts mess and get their audience back that they're not truley investing in their fans like they use to.

I don't know what's going on with their partnership at IDW and CN but it should already be clear that neither is helping our situation.

one what do you mean by demonic users of fortnite and youtube let the kids enjoy what they want do not demonize their games. I am a gamer but still make time for toys. also cyberverse has a second season coming around October along with a third season on the way as well so they are doing something right I doubt its just us driving that viewership.

And yet that goes against the whole narrative of "G1 sells!" I've been saying for a while now that kids don't really care much about the whole G1 '84 bots, that a well designed attractive toys (which I would consider Siege, well made attractive toys) because they are so far removed from the cartoon unlike most of us looking back with nostalgia (ugh, nostalgia....).

I'm guessing he's referring (at least with YouTube) the tendency of kids to make stupid people famous, the rise of idiotic YouTube "personalities" that provide no actual value to our society.

the paul brothers, ninja, Faze Tfue etc. people who are literally up to no good. In case you're unaware; most kids are actually harming their parents, maybe even attempting murder at them only because they were simply told that they need timeout from fortnite or they can't use their credit card to donate on the users livestream.

    Was season 1 even good???

You mean, like, a lot of the celebrities that OUR generation made famous? That shit is always gonna happen, for example, it wasn't modern kids who made Jenny McCarthy famous enough that she spouts out medical advise like an actual doctor

To be fair, I've seen horrible players in games such as Fortnite. You think drunk adults are bad? Set off a teenager, or worse yet, a preteen who shouldn't be playing such games and clearly have horrible parents... It's some of the ugliest language you've ever heard and things you wouldn't say to your worst enemy.

Fortnite is everywhere these days, and now Ninja is a bonafide star, thus making it worse. Much worse.

Cyberverse is considered a hit if one person tunes in. That's how bad CN's ratings are. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro and CN came to some kind of an agreement where they sold (and air) the series as a package deal, basically "you take one, you take 'em all" there's really nothing to verify that the show's a hit.

The toys aren't big sellers, either. Every store I go to has at least one size class on clearance and some Walmarts don't even have tags for the line. It's all Siege and Studio Series, which is fine for you and me, but sucks for kids looking for entry way into the universe.

That said, kids weren't buying those, clearly.

I'm fine with them going outside G1 to make toys, it doesn't all have to be G1. I've liked the takes they've had with Beast Wars over these past few years, so I'm quite open-minded to different figures from different eras, so long as they're done well. For example: I think Siege Ultra Magnus and Galaxy Force Optimus Prime are both a waste. The old skool G1 fans get the robot mode with a haphazardly planned alternate universe alt mode.

To do it right, they should've given the RID fans a legit Ultra Magnus update in both modes, and not stripped away the flight mode for GFOP.

They push the figures to do too much and everyone feels left out, at least, a little. Studio Series is how you do a proper update. To do new figures, new designs, the closest we've gotten was the original WFC/FOC and Thrilling 30's IDW figures.

They're afraid to do anything outside their comfort zone, sadly confirming they're admitting they make garbage, such as Cyberverse, in their comfort zone.

The whole thing is a mess and probably ran on for too many years. Same thing is happening in Japan. Bandai knows the kids are growing too fast and they need to keep them coming back to Sentai, so they keep churning out dinosaur sets because kids are still so enamored with them. The fans and collectors are starting to grow weary of it. The comments are more negative than positive. To be fair, just off the top of my head, Sentai has had at least 4 dinosaur themed series and two of those in the past decade. Actually, last 5 years.

No one's having kids anymore, and the kids they do have can't be kids anymore and technology is everywhere, fighting for a piece of that pie. It's one of the reasons the tech Titans in Silicon Valley have their children live analog lives and have toys instead of gadgets.

I totally see how Sentai shows do well in Japan and I WISH we could get a TF show like a lot of Sentai shows: a character focused story with strong growing team relationships that isn't so dumbed down and made to feel like a 10 minute Yuotube clip show. Man, Prime was the last time I felt we had anything close to that. Hasbro's current strategy feels like it's driven by old men who only superficially understand kids, the market and their property.

I am aware of them but like Crim said it is always going to happen and yes season 1 was good especially at the half way point where it picked up. also kids half always harmed there parents wither by accident or straight murder like the people who followed mason did its not new. this conversation might get me banded.

who says cyberverse is garbage? just because you do not like it does not mean others will dislike it what happened to immaniagtion? as for fortenight I do not pay attention to that since is it not popular in my area. yes I know of toys to life I am just trying to make things more optimistic with video game companies receiving more and more bad press its likely another crash is coming.

Elvis was said to have inspired the same things in the youth of the time. This is exactly like the meme "old man yells at sky."

    Ebay:
Tomy products can be found in most toy shops in the UK including Smyths, and Toys R Us when it was going. So there is a long term presence in regards to the Tomy side of it. Albeit it is all pre-school toddler toys.

That's because it is :p  But even Super Sentai barely does well in Japan, Go-Busters did so badly that Bandai of America and Saban renegotiated the contracts so they could skip it (ironic since it's the first one Hasbro's touching) but it did better than all of the Sentai's from the last five years.
