I feel like the proportions might be better in yellow and black with the perhaps larger head.

 

Man this is bad news for @Robogeek28 and his Tapout recolor. Even I was looking forward to one.
You might have to just custom paint one Robo.

I've wanted an MMC Bee for a while, mostly just so Hellion could have a better aesthetic match since he's a little lankier than MP-21.

After seeing the monstrosity that is MP-45 though, dear lordy please let it happen  . TT Cliff will indeed most likely be a remold of that and...hard pass.

Again, why are we assuming that cliff will be a retool? They’re different designs.

 

Because they have extremely similar bot mode proportions, will now be based on a chibi alt mode which isn't nearly as different as realistic versions of their alt modes, and most modern representations have been mold-mates. I mean, it really isn't outside of the norm at all.

 

I don't know if MMC will come back to this mold. I think they came so late to the party with Hellion, I'm not sure how well it really did for them financially. Plus, I've gotta believe that since XTB did both CJ & HC right out of the gate, they were able to squeeze $$$ out of their engineering and mold right from the start making their mold more profitable.

Unless MMC has already done the tooling to get some additional use out of their Hellion mold, they will again be the last ones to the party for a Hubcap figure, plus they are going to have to pay for re-tooling. Plus I'm not 100% sure their Hellion mold is a knock-out to begin with. All factors which don't really make it seem likely - but who knows...

Yeah but they do have different shapes. Meaning that how their backpacks and other parts can be formed and moved can be done in different ways.

 

True, although I'm not optimistic that it'll be different enough to bypass the issues I have with MP-45. If not a remold, it'll no doubt use the same engineering of faux chest and throw everything on the back of the body and feet. Did I mention that I'm not optimistic?

 

I personally wouldn't mind if MMC just colored this guy yellow, and game him a bumblebee head, as it would still be a better option then both the BB's that Takara has and will give us.

 

I would be interested in that, too. People were turned off with MMC Helion's chibi alt mode but are now onboard with Takara's Bee's chibi alt mode. funny how the pendulum swings.

 

I totally forgot that I had left the steering wheel in the bag with his other accessories when I transformed him into robot mode. Therefore I had no problems when I rearranged his hips. You're right, it wouldn't work with the wheel still attached.

 

Any news on a Hubcap from these guys? I cancelled my order for both from X-Transbots.

 

Wish I could have gotten my hand on the stealth version of this guy. He would make a good little Decepticon spy after painting the eyes red. I’ve been looking for him for awhile on eBay and haven’t seen him once.

 

Is anybody selling one of these lads? Its time I get an upgrade from Tumbler

 

I wouldn’t mind that actually. Maybe on the faintest chance that they made a hubcap they could include a bumblebee head for those who are into it.
