Yeah, I think Phoenix definitely looks better, but Siege Jetfire looks almost as good:

The arms look better proportioned here than previous pics, though I'm not keen on the feet and lack of articulated hands. You do get a whole bunch more weapons though, and apparently a faction symbol changing feature? The outline around the Decepticon badge makes me think that's a panel that can flip around between Autobot and Decepticon symbols.

But getting back to Phoenix, it is one of the figures I regret not getting when I had the chance. Owel, I think Siege Jetfire will be a decent consolation prize. at least.

 

Whilst that is an Impressive Skyfire by Hasbro standards, "almost as good" is wishful thinking.

When is this FT+ Phoenix gonna drop anyways? Gotta decide what gets cut from the need list soon.

 

My qualm is that Takara could have focused its resources on a Masterpiece Skyfire instead of Bumblebee v.2.

3rd party figures might not be perfect (I guess Takara ones aren’t either because they were just stand-ins for newer Takara ones) but I am glad they exist so I can complete my collection.

 

Buy one and keep the other in alt jet mode on a stand/suspended with strings, problem solved.

 

Was *anyone* asking for a Bee 2.0? And I don't see the appeal of this new Hasbro Skyfire. Sure, by Hasbro standards, he looks nice. But he still looks like he's made from the same chunky, hollow plastic as every other Walmart former out there. Very "meh".

Now can we please get back to Phoenix? When can we expect to see some pics?

 

to be fair to hastak, ive been seeing reviews that they stepped up the plastic and the siege line doesnt feel as hollow. idk how true that is, i dont have any to refer to. however, at 11", we will see if that trend continues.

personally, i never asked for a bee 2.0, but i have been asking for a KO FT-10....... on this very board..... the siege one is as close as its going to get. then ill be waiting on the OS KO via WJ or BMB. see all ye 4th parties out there.. you should have listened to me...

 

It’s CNY. Talking about Siege Jetfire is all we have to pass the time unless we want to keep debating about if the second market price for Phoenix will drop when the X version hits.

We’ll probably see pics after the partying subsides.

Yes, I paid significantly more then the original release price but I was also not collecting when it was released.

Just glad to have him on the way. With a couple others as well of course.....

I thought about collecting the Siege figures and even found and bought Optimus and Megatron at as local Toys R Us but returned them a couple days later. I just figured the money was better spent on Masterpiece stuff. The thrill of the hunt is all fun but once it wears off the build quality and overall look just isn't my cup of tea.

They also have different lighting so its hard to really distinguish the differences without being directly next to each other.

 

If people can't see the difference they don't deserve to own Phoenix!

 

Honestly, all I can tell is that the backpack is chromed like the side “vents” now and the body is “pearly”. If the white is painted or of if just a glossy plastic, I dont know.
