I'd have been happy if they just added articulation.

Not quite sure when I became so fussy.

I'm fine with the big wings. I bought him for Predaking, if I have to make sacrifices I'm going to make ones that favour the big guy.

And since the designer sacrificed the individual figures by weighing them down with giant connector slabs, I think there's precedent. :p

Fumbled slightly it seems, less plastic in scale but imagine more feathers layered over each over in a stack, how cool would that have looked.

I ordered the set today and then realized the wings might be odd on the individual bot mode. I display them that way for best fit in a detolf.

I think the new wings are the perfect size for Predaking. Unfortunately they're too big for my shelf and I have to fold them down, lol.

Actually I could display them out, but that would mean moving PK to the middle of the shelf. And since it's a shelf with him, Warbotron and Combiner Starscream, it would just look weird with PK in the middle and not SS.

Damn, that's a good looking Predaking. Still haven't gotten my set yet, but these pictures are making me excited!

I just double checked the sword: it is just a chunk of mold flash and it doesn’t align properly either. Same as both messages I quoted.

My sword alignment started out fine but has been sloooooowly getting worse over time. That makes me think that it's not a molding issue. I should try heating and bending it like jbwkkl suggested.

My Predaking and DNA kit should show up this week. Very excited but TfSource is horrible with preorders and purchase status updates. I ordered both in JUNE. I have no issue waiting, but damn......

I received my kit from TCP. There are two ratchets inside. The sword has those "scratch" lines on them and are slightly mis-aligned toward the tip. I'm not too bothered by minor imperfections in this set as long as everything fits fine, since the POTP Predaking isn't exactly of the of the highest quality himself (I do like him though). Looking forward to installing the kit tonight.

Huh. Never thought I'd be giving Hasbro credit over a 3rd party, but...

DNA > Hasbro > Wei Jiang (Seriously, how'd they drop the ball like that?)

    Thanks for the pics!

The installation is really nice and simple. Slide the wings and the hands off of the corresponding mushroom pegs, slide the new parts on, the spinal column pegs into Razorclaw's screwhole and figure stand hole on the back of his pelvis and also has a tab to slot into the hole on his under the chin mane panel and that's it! It's so quick, so simple, but makes a world of difference in robot and combined modes. (I'd recommend removing the spinal piece when Razorclaw is in lion mode. It's a silly thing, I know, but it really does look terrible and very phallic in that mode. So much so that it's distracting and kind of ruins the image.)

The ratchets are more involved and do require disassembly, but it takes like 5 minutes, max. It's worth the surgery, though.

I'd say the whole thing (getting out of the box, assembly, putting in the ratchets) takes roughly...15-20 minutes. At most. Well worth the time and money investment.

Only thing I'll say is be careful when installing the ratchets. The ratchet piece for the outward shoulder movement can fall out easily. Mine fell out while making the switch and I had to spend a good 5 minutes looking for it because its very small.

Got mine this past Saturday from TCP. For whatever reason it don't feel like you're getting much for $50, but you really are. I don't get all the wing hate. They look terrific. I haven't installed the ratchets. Not sure I will.

Have to squeeze him into a detolf, hence the kneel.

I recon the design went through cost cutting measures, I could easily see the spine parts forming into a tail of sorts, if the ''balls' were removable they could form one ball to tag on the end of the ''tail' then an additional tab could be revealed to plug into the upper slot on Razorclaws back end to form a lion's tail?

Finally got mine this afternoon from BBTS (wasn't expecting until tomorrow). Happy with everything.. EXCEPT for two things.

1)The weak "friction positioning" of the wings when combined. The best way I can describe the issue, they feel like they sit closer to Divebomb and Rampage than the stock ones do. With the way I customized my Rampage, (added weapon ports to his shoulders) the wings are forced away from Rampage more than the stock ones are, and so don't fit my shelf without folding down the feathers.

2)The weight and design of the hammer/sword hilt. Using Rampage in an extended arm mode, Predaking's wrist (Rampage's "heel spur") gets in the way and Predaking can't hold the sword in certain positions. Plus, the sword's weight makes Rampage pop thus dropping PK's hand all together.

Both are minor issues, but still a disappointment. I just feel that, with the delays we've all come to expect from DNA, they could've addressed these issues better.

Don't have time today to take apart my Predaking, but looks to me like the spine CAN double as a tail. Granted it would look like the armored tail of an ankylosaurus... 1..jpg
..but it looks possible just using the pegs the connect to PK's shoulders.
