Neoshifters are really cool robots. They are like bionicle but i think they are better. If anyone sees these figures in the store check them out. They can transform which is really cool and has some neat features. http://www.kidzworld.com/article/8624-neo-shifters-toy-review http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu_JJo...ttp://www.tfans.com/index.php?showtopic=73385
I bought one of these a month or so ago when I saw a big display for them. The packaging was super-attractive and the price was right (and I was going through withdrawal because there were no new TFs in), so I picked up the green one. They're pretty tall... 9-10 inches! They are clearly trying to horn in on the Bionicle market with that spikey bio-tech look that the TF movie has also popularized, but they are pretty cool. Quite a bit of articulation (including the claws), customizable, and badass styling. The light effect on the crystal in their head is very bright... aim it at a friend and watch them blink! Bwahahahaaaa! The inner core "pilot" robot is neat (he also turns into a ball, which in turn fits in the chest launcher of the larger robot), but not as posable as I'd like... though I suppose that's to be expected from a transforming robot the size of a Lego man. He also comes with his own gun. And yeah... they turn into giant techno-spheres with turbines that can fold out... but is that really any weirder than Unicron, Primus, or those movie Protoforms? Overall, this toy is pretty good, especially considering it's cheaper than any Bionicle in it's size class, and it transforms too! It's not really my thing... I realised this after I built him... (might use him for kitbashing parts... lots of click joints), but I can recognize that it's a pretty awesome figure. zmog
I grabbed the green one some time ago. I like him. he's no transformer, but he was an enjoyable aside while I waited for movie deluxes to actually show up.
Bought one and it's crap. Love the idea, but it's the most fragile pos I own. Broke in 4 places from just posing. Will stick with Exo Force Some pics Did a review on them in the misc toy thread
I bought the yellow/blue one today, it has a lot of nice parts for $10. The light up head is awesome, as is the gun. No problems here, recommended - especially to kitbashers, lots of good joints. Due to the nature of the parts and the transformation, I don't see a lot of customization being possible other than color swaps. It's pretty much a build it and that's how it is kinda thing.
*Sighs* If only I could think of a way to convert one of these into a Samus Aran figure. Unfortunately, they seem to have far too skeletal a build (all mechanics, no coverings) for that. As it stands, they look cool enough, but they're not for me.
I got the yellow/blue one myself. Main disappointment is that it was missing a part - the blue "rubber band" that has to do with transformation. After some waiting, Mega shipped one to me, but I have not had a chance to put it in yet.
Are you a golem or something? I can't believe you broke it 4 times just handling it... this thing is made for kids, dude! Lego parts are individually pretty tough, but Exo-Force stuff falls apart way more easily than this. The only part of this figure I found fragile in the slightest was the little mini guy/pilot. His ball joints kept popping out. I concur, though when I spoke of customization, I meant in the sense that as a building toy, you can rearrange parts to build it differently. If you want to preserve the transformation gimmick, yeah, you can't really customize it, besides swapping parts with other NeoShifters. The little dude was a major selling point for me too, though that's also why I found him disappointing. The box-art pictures make those little guys look much more posable than they actually are. In reality the pilots are tiny and although they do transform into orbs, they are a bit flimsy. zmog
