Really? I think his gun mode is pretty good. The panel gaps are a teeny bit more obvious than on the IT version but in compensation the metallic silver gives it a more realistic finish.

I’m happy with Magten as my gun mode, THF as my bot mode and IT on my Optimus/Megs shelf.
I certainly wouldn’t say Magten is terrible, in either mode.

 

I got the IT01 emperor of destruction this week looks really good the transformation was a pain in the arse had to look up a tutorial video to figure out what I was doing wrong lol

The best quality version of this mold and at the best value......hands down.

 

Anyone dare transform their IT Megatron into a gun? Is it better than the official? Should we just keep him as a bot? Everything tab in right? Scared to try and transform mine.

Got my THF Megs in last week and he looks great. Was planning on keeping Apollyon originally but now he just looks off by comparison.

 

The transformation is pretty smooth, if complicated. The only parts to really watch out for are being gentle when separating the leg panels... at least one or two people have ripped theirs apart forcing that and it's a bit of a tight joint...and taking care not to scratch the faces. Everything fits together fantastically, even better than the offical....EXCEPT...my trigger guard won't stay pegged together. It doesn't reach properly like it does on the offical. Probably has something to do with the ab crunch.... if you hold him up to the light there's a very faint gap between the upper and lower body halves that isn't on the official. Which might be enough to throw off the fit on that.

 

Mine worked great everything tabbed in perfect, was just really complicated to get done. See previous post of mine for pictures.

 

I do it all the time. It's very strong and stable.

Oh, but loosen the screw where the legs meet. Makes separating them much less stressful.

 

Havent transformed mine, but every video I watched shows that it transforms better than the official, with only minor gaps in between panels as opposed to the grand canyons of mp36.

 

IT-01 is much better than MP-36 (although I have heard good things about the reissues). My first KO, but I still don't make a habit of buying them. I only have IT-01 and the BMB Grimlock, and I own the original official releases too.

The accessories suck though. Everyone of them is painted pretty badly. I just use the ones from my actual MP-36. The real benefits of IT-01 is that it has better tolerances and lines up better, and that it doesn't chip away like the official.

 

Which is the best KO? IT version?

 

Cant go wrong with IT or THF.

IT has more diecast, a more accurate and durable paint job, and really nice ratchets, they even added ratchets to the outward leg movement. *a con to some*. I think it still comes with the added back panel to hide the kibble. The cannon has a RED led and some English and Chinese voice clips. It also comes with a little kremezeek figure and the chain for the mace is metal.

Downsides to IT is that the soundchip on the cannon isnt the greatest, the faces are slightly off *but still look great*, and you might have issues with one of the ankles holding together in robot mode. The cock/hammer might also be a little loose and not hold the leg together super securely, but I think thats pretty rare.

THF is more faithful to the original figure but has a metallic paint job. The soundchip in the cannon sounds great despite the clips being from the Devastation video game, the led is PURPLE. The chain for the mace is translucent plastic like on Takara. THF also includes a MP-36+ Toy face and chest plate.

I'm not as familar with THF as IT...would be if my THF didnt get stuck in china due to CNY, lol... but the downsides to THF are basically that it doesnt have the extra's IT has such as the durable top coating to the paint. Going off reviews it also has more plastic-y sounding joints compared to IT, but the real MP-36 might be the same way.

I want to also add that the reason I ended up getting a THF after getting a IT is because the bare grey plastic on my copy RAPIDLY discolored, like I am talking over the period of a month, to this horrible vintage pukey ninja turtle green color. But from what I have gathered I am the only person to encounter this and was VERY unlucky in that regard. I have since decided to make my IT my "toy" megatron since heavy discoloration is pretty normal with vintage toys. lol
