Yeah I am loving TE-01, and it has me excited for MP-44. I painted the head crest grey (reduces the head crest gap), and removed the horribly placed wipers (cartoon accurate truck mode). I definitely have room for two cartoon primes in my collection, considering the episode A Prime Problem - Transformers Wiki is one of my favorites. Actually gives me a reason to dig the clone helmet out of the box for MP Megatron.

Indeed! there's definitely room for a couple of Primes. I plan to -pass on the MP44.. Officially that is. I'll get the inevitable cheaper KO, and hopefully someone will make the backpack smaller if possible.

Cause, they need a new headsculpt, and I vote for the best ever seen.. MP44.

I think so too! I hope the next TE01 reformat will have a KO MP44 head on it! Don't get me wrong, I love MP44.. I just think that it could have been done better. TE is actually a good alternative, but as is, I won't get it. It has to look like my digibash, otherwise I won't spend a dime.

These two pics sum up my feelings about this figure. He looks yummie from the front. But when you leave this perspective the figure becomes unacceptable. Same with MP Bumblebee. What the heck are you doing, TT???

I've chosen TE Leader over MP-44 because of this and would skip MP Bumblebee v2 if I knew a 3P version was on its way.

For a lot of people this is a money issue. It's just they don't want to admit as much. If you make a six digit income a $400 figure isn't really a large expense. If you're making $30k it's probably pretty a lot harder to justify purchasing one MP44 let alone 3. When push comes to shove, MP44 clearly outshines the alternatives. I still think the truck mode is pretty meh but the robot mode is as good as it gets (oversized backpack or not). The third party imposters don't even come close.

 

You can’t say TE01 or MS01 aren’t good figures. They really are very good Optimus Prime and can really pretend to be on the same level as MP44. I have TE and can’t wait to hold MP44 though! Even if, it course, they aren’t official.

 

In what category does it have a clear, undisputed superiority over the two, other than the number of accessories?

 

Paint and articulation also. Also sculpt accuracy, but that can be subjective.

 

Yeah, you can make six figures and not have enough if you've got a lot of kids and pay for their school, etc...
