Not mocking people per say but in my defence its better to discuss about the changes in modern Revolrltech designs rather than critisizing a toy that has not been released yet and putting too much negative emphasis on previous old first gen revoltech figures which were what they were decades ago...simplistic and with many flaws. I respect your opinions Shin, so I'll leave it at that. Im just very excited about a new Prime action pvc figure that looks miles better than previous incarnations. Its been a long time coming and its the first TF focused one vis Robot Spirits which only mostly made Gundam stuff.

Magneto is not old gen, it's from last year, one of the relatively newer releases.

I hope this figure turns out good for those that want it but my experience with Magneto doesn't leave me confident.

That ground with laser rifle pose sold me instantly. Try doing that with a regular transformable tf toy. Ha!

I get your point across. But some were asking about this new Convoy release to Revoltech's older first gen TF figures like Rodimus etc. Hopefully this new one will turn out great. Well have to wait till summer to find out.
Ok so not everything Japanese toy companies make will turn into gold..lol. Bandai is not perfect like its always made up to be. Lol.

My Vulcanlog Yu-gi-oh figures are new Revoltechs and they kind of suck. They're not even that great at posability. The Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon isn't even nearly as well articulated as the similarly-shaped Figuarts Charizard (which also came with accessories while the Blue-Eyes just had a stand) and the Kaiba is restricted by the same things as the Figma Kaiba, which is otherwise a far better toy. Unless Vulcanlogs are significantly worse than the other modern Revoltechs I'll remain skeptical.

Like, Figma and stuff have their own problems: Good Smile have the obnoxious habit of making accessories that should be with the retail figure as online-exclusives. Figuarts on the other hand like to begin a set of characters and then stop halfway through, which is arguably the worst thing out of all these examples to do.

Weakest according to who? Because Revoltech's appeal is its superior articulation which often compromises on the sculpt. I'd assume that most Revoltech fans understand this and don't buy these figures to have the most screen-accurate representation, they get it to have a very good representation with excellent articulation. Figma figures may look gorgeous but they don't have the articulation of a Revoltech figure.

I think this will be good. A lot has changed, and with Flame Toys doing so well (apparently) why not give it another try. Was there a KO line that sprouted from the older figures. I'm gonna get this guy. I would like to know his size. Too bad Ori Toy didn't release more bots

I'm wondering the same thing. I think your guess will be right or close. I converted the price from Yen to USD and it comes out to be 67 USD, so im guessing 7 inches. I guess Bumblebee might be 5 if they get that far. Gone are the days when Transformers fans only buy transforming bots. We have Flame Toys, Toys Alliance and now these guys.

By "forcing", I mean creating a new size class. If a collector wants to buy this "new" iteration of Prime, and wants to include it in their existing Revoltech line, they are forced to then re-buy the other figures they own in the new scale.

This is basically marketing/sales 101; create a new market to force existing customers to buy more new/existing products.

Mind you, if these new figures are better than the film version of Optimus Prime, then great. I had the Dreamwave bots and they were reasonably poseable, but the film version of OP was a floppy mess that could barely stand up straight, yet alone hold a pose. Drunk Pinocchio from that scene in the film had more stability...

Toys do get replaced/updated every 10 years, especially in terms of engineering.

The only thing that doesn't get replaced is the styling. The styling is the artistic component.

Yeah me too, I was really looking forward to Sixshot and I was also told a Trailbreaker was in development.

Sixshot was my most anticipated release for that line, hope they still make him

Yea I mean things just get replaced after a while. The original Dreamwave style TFs were shown off in 2004, and weren't released until 2007- by that point Dreamwave was bankrupt and IDW was already rebooting the comics, so even when they were first released they had a dated style that most TF fans grew to dislike. If you enjoyed the Dreamwave Revoltechs (I personally didn't), then you'll find newer Revoltechs are so much better, with additional joints in the shoulders and necks that the earlier ones lacked, and general improvements to the joints

I gotta level with you guys, this thread single-handedly got me interested in Revoltech even despite the mixed reviews. Like I just found out there's a Revoltech Gurren Lagann and I need that in my life desperately. Might even try to track down the old puffy Dreamwave Prime for nostalgia's sake sometime.

    NEW PICS, NEW PICS.

Translucent axe and the "NEVER!" fists. That heavily implies a Megatron release. I hope Megs gets the saber and pistol. They will need Starscream to kick him and Soundwave to carry him.
