Thiiiiiis! ^_^ Or so I hope! I've been waiting for a Generations PMOP/Super Ginrai with an actual cab in chest super mode gimmick forever now. The moment I saw that PotP mold, that was the first thing I thought. So I'm hoping they're just saving it for last, to leave some room between the last Ginrai/PMOP we got and it.

 

You know I was just thinking this earlier. The inner robot only shares the truck kibble, thighs, and lower arms. For all intents and purposes it is now a standard G1 Optimus, and also the perfect Ginrai. Retool the trailer armor again into the Powermaster armor, and we have the perfect Super Ginrai..

It’s so close Takara. Do you think you could do it again? Do you think you could give us the perfect Ginrai? We’ll buy it.

 

The first time PotP Prime showed up in blurry images - I really felt he was a proper update to Super Ginrai more than the the then recent CW retool - and then we got the toy we got. Still the transformation scheme just screams Super Ginari/PM Op, so hopefully we will. Glad I'm not the only one who thought the same. I just wonder if Takara will retool it and make yet another Ginrai as well as God Bomber so soon after their individual release of GB and EX release of God Ginrai.

Come to think of it, it's actually funny, because the CW mold would have made for a more accurate Star Convoy in that he was an all in one transformation from truck/trailer to robot.

If they retool God Bomber I hope it's a HELL of a lot more solid and stable. Neat sculpt but not well put together.

Given that they're still trying to unload LGEX God Ginrai sets I would not hold my breath, particularly since Takara had already retooled the Titans Return Prime to be a better Ginrai and came up with their own Godbomber mold.

 

^They're still selling that clunky God Bomber? They can upsize and retool Siege Cog as a new God Bomber.

 

Star Convoy came with a Micromaster Hot Rod, and Armada Optimus with the mini-con Sparkplug- I'm wondering if those two are being planned for the current Micromaster line to go along with these guys.

 

Why in the world would they do that?

They'll revisit Ginrai and friends in a few years, at earliest.

 

I'm hoping for a hilarious base mode where the super-mode head stays on like this:

 

Are those... Fists? The sweet fists that delivered countless beatings in that glorious super mode?

If Armada Jetfire gets made and if compatible I might just die.

 

Hmm, idk, but I wouldn't hope too much for new molds--knowing how Takara thinks, I'd assume one or both would be repaints of the Micromaster Sports Car team.
Hot Rod may be a new mold just because of his spoiler and all...

The more I think about it, I really hope in the final version of this dude, they remold his chest windows to have the trapezoid/angular
shape of the original. Also, if the chest stays as is, that means the cab is likely a blunt c.o.e. type truck cab, which is also unfortunate
since the original had a hog nose.

I mean, starting out from a base of a repaint, there's only so much we can hope for I guess,
but seeing as new Star Convoy's don't come around very often...

 

I hope so.. It's just that they gave "Pretenders" a chance in POTP.
They haven't integrated God Masters & proper Deluxe Pretenders in new molding and not retool (Metalhawk and friends) in CHUG line.

Not going to lie, thought I’d have to bring out the pitchforks when you put MP Bee ahead of Armada Prime... all came together in the end, though.

 

I would love basically Leonidas in Voyager size.
