So as a Gunpla fan, the Optimus is real nice. Optimus looks real good even painted, though I hit the Matrix sculpted into one of the chest pieces with chrome and gold paint. Hard to see the Matrix core, and I couldn't get good enough lighting, but you can see the chrome of the Matrix handles I painted up.

I have the Nemesis, and he's real fun. I cant wait for the others to come out!

 

I actually didn't realize that Screamer and Prime were effectively TRIGGER designs until one of my friends helped me out on that. But now since he's done I can definitely see that Studio TRIGGER influence all over the place. I'm absolutely gonna grab the Starscream now too. Damn. I want to grab Nemesis also. He looks great in those colors.

I was really keen on the nemesis version. Since there’s gonna be another prime. But after seeing both I’m not sure which to get. And I’m tempted to make the IDW one in ultra magnus anyway.

Yeah I know right? Like they do look very trigger and the fact that there were some designers from them on it just seals it. Seems like they’d be perfect in an anime.

Are the models pre-painted? I don’t want to dive into painting.

 

They're not pre-painted, but if Optimus is anything to go by then color separation seems pretty good. You will probably need to paint certain details of the kit doesn't have a sticker for it. Such as what I did for the sculpted Matrix bit on Optimus.

But my first post on this page shows you what a straight build(no paint or customization) with some very minor detail painting looks like.

 

Soooooo when’s IDW Prime out again?

 

I've preordered IDW prime as well, or more so hes a bday gift from my mom.   but, I do have the attack mode prime and while he super cool and I love him, his crotch plates kept popping off while i was building him ^_^" Hes on display now, so its no longer an issue but it was pretty funny to me at the time lol.

 

I’m pretty sure everyone hates that lol.

 

LMAO I thought about that to be honest but it wouldn't change the fact that those side pieces on the ball joint would still fall off xD just the slightest motion and im just like ‍♀️

 

update: the new idw op is amazing, and I've already finished building him. I'd just remind peeps to be cautious when cutting out the windshield. It's either pretty fragile or i need a newer sharper knife lol.

Yup painted some parts and panel lined , but used those emblem stickers and the inner knee black space. I reckon he would look good just snapbuild and panel lined tbh.
