Given the higher costs and build material of most of the types of TFs we buy, I think they are far from "children's products." We're not talking about Hot Wheels or Tonka toy dump trucks here. But hey if that's what you're into there's nothing wrong with that.

The EBay bucks promotion might be only on item that cost over $50.00 and not checkouts that total more than $50.00 I had this issue before thinking i'd get the bucks even though I spent over $60 from the same seller I didn't though.

I inquired and they told me it's only 10% on the ap and 8% on the site for items over $50 and I think that is the case here again.

It's not really worth my time though as it's only a piddly $4 off $50.00. Only worth bothering with if you were just about to end an auction or were feeling impatient - not a lot of use to me though as what I wanted to buy cost closer $25

Depends where your price falls relative to expected prices. It's a fight to sell Marvel Legends for $20, whereas I don't think I'd have any trouble selling ONE:12 for $20.

But we aren’t talking expected price, simply whether eBay is capturing sales. It’s up to sellers to identify and understand the market before buying an item for the purpose of reselling on eBay.

Whether Marvel Legends collectors don’t go to eBay to pay retail price for figures doesn’t mean that eBay users, as a whole, don’t buy lower priced items simply because they are saving up for higher priced items.

So what are you selling? Devin Wenig has gone on record crediting fidget spinners for at least one quarter's growth.

Respectfully, you missed the point of the comparison. Clearances and coupons are two sides of the same coin. It shows their difficulty attracting regular retail-type traffic. They desperately want to be Amazon, distancing themselves from their traditional image of a place to dump your old stuff for whatever you can get.

Not true at all — clearances and coupons aren’t related at all. All products face clearance — even succesful ones, because retailers have a timeline for a product. When the product hits that timeline and it’s time to set a new product, you clearance out the old. Clearance is only an issue if the product didn’t achieve the desired sell through and your clearance quantity exceeds to initial plan. If you bring in a product you never expect 100% sell through; you set a reasonable expectation of capturing full profit on, say, 80% sell through. If you sell that then the product achieved its profit goals and if you have to clearance out the remaining 20% when the time comes it’s no big deal.

That’s different from coupons which are intended to stimulate increased sales. Even that, though, doesn’t necessarily reflect lack of demand. The toothpaste industry ain’t in trouble but you will always one brand or another on sale every week somewhere. It doesn’t reflect that brands inability to capture regular sales.

I think I can tell the difference between an item that bombed and an item that just doesn't sell on eBay. Not only do I pull more stuff from my eBay store than my dealer table, distribution of prices is more even.

There's actually a perverse incentive not to lower prices on eBay. The fixed fee on fixed shipping counters any possible advantage to lowering prices to spur volume (especially on low dollar items). Thus, eBay's coupons to goose sales from the demand side, which at the low end don't overcome the added expense of shipping. This is not true at a show with a fixed table fee where volume does help and accelerates profit once you cover that single fixed cost.

Toothpaste is a poor example because it's a consumable. It will sell with or without the coupon, nor does it go to 90% off if you wait long enough.

I found some stuff I want on eBay. Let's hope a 10% off or better coupon hits soon!™

The eBay coupon for Australia is ending tomorrow, I'm trying to buy MPs because the buyer is back from vacation but it's not letting me checkout multiple items when they're the same currency. Please help? No idea what to do.

EDIT: Do I have to commit to buy then request an invoice? Am I able to apply my coupons that way?

You apply coupons at checkout - the reduction only comes off the price of the item not the shipping.
The whole process needs to be on an australian account to work properly.

Same old problem again - what I want to buy isn't out yet. or what I want to buy that is out I either can't find or the seller has frozen their store due to chinese new year. I suppose ideally i'd want something to already be on sale to stack with the 10% since 10% only really has an advantage to it on larger items. Also $150 AUD is a lot to drop in one go when you might have a 15% coupon around the corner.

I wonder what possessed them to put such a short date on it they had 5% and 10% offers that lasted weeks before. Pity no one has any pre-orders up for Yes Model Vulcan yet. Unless I trip over something that is already on sale I don't think I'll bother with this sale coupon myself.

Yeah I know it only comes off the price of the item, but I want to buy them in one transaction so I can apply the coupon at all. I know eBay implemented this check out one item at a time thing but it’s annoying when it doesn’t work properly or maybe I just don’t have a grasp about what it is.

Individually the items are no more than $150 each, so I have to checkout multiple to use that coupon. I’m sure the seller has shipping included in their item price but they don’t charge for shipping on their eBay listings.

A few sellers that I watch are back from CNY since PO has opened back a few days ago I believe or at least they’ll open back in a few days. You can message the sellers if they’re on vacation unless they already told you when they’re coming back.

I’m dropping over $500 AUD on MPs and I feel it’s urgent since they’re about to run out of stock. It is strange that they made this discount so short, a 15% might be possible but I’m not sure how much longer I’ll wait.

You should be able to checkout multiple items from different or same sellers with Buy it now listings so long as they are all the same currency.

Just add them to basket then checkout from the basket. The only time it might stop you is if you have more than a dozen things in one basket it might try to split them up into two payments. But it should even allow you to checkout an auction you have won but not payed for with the BIN items as it usually (though not always) puts won items in the basket too.

I have actually had to ask ebay to over-ride it and make that work to use a voucher before when it was doing weird things.

I think there is an option in the setting that does for one item at a time or single seller checkouts - you'd have to play around with the search function or check all the tick boxes in you account to see if that was turned on by mistake though.

Yeah, I'll take a look at my settings and see but I still have to wait for the seller to respond anyway, since he cancelled my orders and he limits his quantity to 3 orders every 10 days per customer and I plan on buying 5 MPs from them lol.

EDIT: Yeah, looks like I'm missing out on the 10% off discount, argh. Maybe next time, now I have to cancel another order and look at some other sites.
