i was thinking exactly this!!! this really would get slated big time if it were a third party but its not a third party so people will treat it as the second coming

 

MP-21's backpack isn't quite as prominent if you push it on the top though. Forgive the crappy pic, but this is what I mean:

 

Agreed. The toon accuracy is more a challenge. And it shows with what they’re doing.

Is that a bad thing? It’s a pretty smart and logical choice.

The new one has a lot better flow though. Feels more cohesive.

Exactly. This is like a peak at what is being made. Not everything is sorted out or even displayed right.

I see what you mean. But there’s a lot less gapage at the back of the neck and sides.

 

The face isn’t what I’d hoped - maybe it would look better with thinner paint. Not horrible but definitely disappointing. The rest isn’t ideal either but I can live with it.

 

It's the trail of foot hes dragging 3ft behind him that is eating me up. Gawt dog! That's a lot of tumor. But if I or some one else can make something to clean that up hes a contender!

 

That would be a real trick. I guess they are trying to work around the fact that your jaw drops down when you open your mouth. Unfortunately it means that a lot of faces look pretty awkward when the mouth is closed. I'm excited for MP45 but I really hope that one of the alternate faces looks better because his stoic face looks pretty meh to me.

Man, MP-21's foot transformation was so tidy. 45, not so much. I'm guessing the foot kibble was at least partially designed that way for stability? Still, I like the way everything looks from the front. I was hoping they'd pull some of that BW black magic and give him an animation accurate back. Probably an unrealistic expectation.  

 

If he was gonna have a backpack anyway they shouldve thrown much of the feet in there. Otherwise looks really cool.

 

Sad when the legends sized figure has the better backpack.

 

MP21's is one clean piece at least

 

Overall he's better. Legs are better, arms are better, chest is better. Feet are worse, I grant. Backpack is about the same. Face sculpt, well, I need to see the other faces.

Pretty sure the foot kibble is his front doors. The price of having opening doors for Spike? Since they need to be attached to the front of the car, they couldn’t go anywhere else.
