I was hoping Superion would be this wave just for the sake of increasing the number of autobot jets in the game now that factions can have gameplay consequences. Also wow, Triple Changers already? I sorta assumed they'd hold back on that until wave 3 tbh. Not a complaint of course, theres plenty I'd love to see! Just surprised we're getting them in the same wave that's introducing combiners.

 

They said jet heavy on the podcast and so far we only got Thrust and Acid Storm. Figured these guys were a shoe in

So far it's:
1) Predaking
2) Volcanicus
3) Menasor
4) Optimus Maximus
5) Superion.

They said there were six combiners, so Devy being a 6-man team to balance with Maximus would make sense. Would also give them 3:3 faction balance.

 

It would also leave Defensor v Bruticus and Computron v Abominus for a later set.

 

Fireflight\'s original name is back.

 

I called it! Give the Cons more cars and trucks, give the bots more planes, and make a common combiner for each faction. I like the abilities of these common combiners too.

 

I miss Slingshot...

 

And Wildrider. Me too. Disappointed they went the route of including the noobs like this. I can only speak for myself, sucked that I had to buy the toys, don't want them duplicated in the card game too.

 

Oh thank god, they didn't waste space with that cheap white jet. What was his name? Shitslinger? Slingshit? Trash? Ah, it's not important, he's only the white extra jet. Good to see Alpha Fuckin' Bravo retaining his rightful place.

 

Must we get a news blurb for every one of these? I mean, anyone is really interested in collecting cards that have artwork taken from comics that have been out for years? Just make one topic for this and update that.

Only Devastator doesn't fit the remaining card positions. Actually, I have no idea what kind of combining team can fit them. There are only 8 unknown characters left and it's very likely that 2 or 3 of them have "Autobot" in their names. On the other hand, only Astrotrain and Octane can't be in it out of 6 best-known triple changers.

 

Devastator could be a separate Starter set with it's own numbering and allowing a second "rare" combiner. He also makes sense to be the poster child to draw people in.

 

I fully expect we will see a new version of Menasor and Superion in a future set that has their G1 teams. The game isn't shy about reusing characters. We have 3 each of the big four (Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream) in the first two waves. No reason there can't be another version of the Aerialbots and Stunticons later. It's just a matter of the game lasting long enough.

 

Arvegtor is right. These are all the cards announced so far, and Devastator doesn't fit (no room left alphabetically for most of the Constructicons).

Honestly, based on the remaining slots below, I have been trying to figure out who the last combiner is and I'm totally stumped. My last guess is some weird new combination that creates Sky Reign.

Yeah, when I realized that the Constructicons were not going to be part of Wave 2, I also suspected that they'd be sold as a standalone set like Metroplex.
