This is a CHECK MATE deal for ToyWorld for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if Zeta announces another combiner further in the works after CNY.

Long live the new 3rd party “KING” Zeta Toys! While Zeta teases their 3rd combiner, fanstoys can barely pull of a 3 year old design. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

It\'s kinda too little, too late... PotP Predaking already does the blocky G1 toy style, and looks better. This has weird proportions with super thick thighs, plus likely Razorclaw will be much larger than the others since his legs form the thighs and he forms the whole torso.  Also the animal legs and arms seem to be just flip-flopping around instead of being affixed.

It's a concept sketch. They still have months of prototyping and engineering to do.

Whether POTP looks better than this is pretty subjective as well as speculative, since this isn't even out yet. Don't think we can meaningfully compare a released product to line art. I don't think you'll find many takers on the notion that the POTP looks better, anyway. I was just looking at it earlier (motivated to take another look after seeing Siege Jetfire and Omega), and it's certainly good for a mass-market release, but it's hardly flawless. The waist section in particular is a little absurd in its proportions. It's also impossible to say at this point whether Razorclaw will form the torso of if this will be another pantsformer. Everyone looking at it has come away with different interpretations of the art, and Zeta hasn't said one way or another. Not sure how much it matters whether Razorclaw is bigger, since Zeta's efforts are focused on the combined mode anyway. I'd point out that MMC's Razorclaw is larger than the other figures in Feral Rex but I don't recall many people being put off by it. As always with combiners, you'll never be able to satisfy every type of "accuracy" between all three modes, so it always comes down to choosing the one that is most important to you. For many, that will be the combined mode, and for those people I'd imagine any size differences will be moot if the finished product is as good as Zeta's Superion. Not sure what all the stuff about "blockiness" is about with people, either. POTP is plenty blocky; I think I heard it referred to as Duplo Predaking when it came out, and it was pretty apt. But the Predacons themselves are blocky anyway. It's kind of like how Aerialbots get criticized for having bots hanging off them and planes on their backs. You can try to soften those aspects, but at the end of the day that's just what they look like. I haven't seen a set of Predacons that don't look kind of bulky, and I don't really expect to. And if I did, there's a decent chance they wouldn't look like Predacons anymore. They're G1, not Beast Wars.

And come on. If Zeta's Predaking turns out anything like their Superion, there's no meaningful comparison to be had with the POTP Predaking. But that's a comparison for much further down the road.

One thing for sure, Zeta each member's beast and robot mode will be way better than PotP Predaking's offering.

Color me interested. I have the original Feral Rex and have mostly been using them in bot modes. I could use another Predacon set. :)  I have passed on Zeta's other offerings so far, but I think they could pull this one off.

I'm getting too old for this hobby. Happy with what I have. Swapping out MP figures every 2-3 years has become annoying. Feral Rex will remain king! Devastator is the only combiner in my collection I'd give an update.

Wow, another PredKing.  At least this one actually LOOKS more PredKing and less \"fans art\".  So far Zeta has been pretty accurate to source material; lets hope they keep that going.  Along with the prices and stability...

I've accepted that it's Zeta, so we're going to have pantsforming...I just want constructor style pantsforming, not Zeta Superion "Just curl Razorclaw into a ball and shove him in the back of this massive hunk of plastic that actually forms the torso"

People sure seem to have convinced themselves that those are folded up feet and not say, a new connector system Zeta is working on.

Because that waist section looks extremely similar to their previous designs. Those are pretty damn huge to be Razorclaw's legs.

Let's not butter their biscuit just yet folks. Yes, this appears to be one of the best combiners to date, but IMHO their individual bots still need work- proportions are often too chunky, transformation sequences are often lazy exhibiting corner cutting and the final robot aesthetic doesn't always feel quite right. Also, until Fanstoys gives us their first combiner I'm not ready to crown Zeta just yet. I have a feeling Fanstoys is going to be the combiner company to beat once they eventually bring one to fruition.

I hope the legs of the animals are hidden or partially hidden inside the body for a slimmer appendage. I don’t want stick legs on the animals or fat bulky legs in combiner limiting combiner poses. Btw I’m still keeping Mmc predaking it’s a classic.

    that's the thing about opinions.....

only a fool?????  yeah well first look at my sig, than understand i'm also a huge Zoids collector, finally i'm a chug collector who has 0 plan on ever combining the TW ver. who are only cool bcuz of their Zoids like look

Nero Rex is better ;)  but for all intense purpose that is "MY" Predaking and is not replaceable being that their will not be another aprox 13-15" ver. to come out and be better :D

I doubt there is anyone on here that believes they can change what is being made overall, we simply choose to discuss what we do and don't like and it will happen until the end of the life cycle of the thread like every other thread

    This.

I'll be very surprised if this doesn't have pants. Why change a winning formula at this point? There's other options to those that are allergic to a few extra parts to aid proportions and stability and we don't have a gigantic Predaking yet.

Don't be fools Zeta. Stick with what you do best, you're the top dog in the combiner game. Don't let it slip!

So...I'm a noob to the whole 3rd party thing but like...if you're going to be displaying this as a combiner all the time, and there's massive pieces of combiner kibble...why not just cut out the middleman and just have it be an action master? Like, same aesthetics and size, but no individual robot modes or transformation? or is it just like...you need the idea of it being able to transform, even if you'll almost never do it?

Say hello to Beast King, a giant predaking action figure from Garatron. They were gonna make him and Defensor, but then they disappeared off the face of the earth.

Yeah, that's partly why I'm hoping this one will have five equal-sized 'bots, because that's how the OG toy was.

I meant in terms of combiner stability, Toyworld have never made a combiner without Zeta. I don't give a shit about Zoid designs.
