Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel casts Danny DeVito and Awkwafina Maybe they'll play new characters/avatars. The "different avatar" gimmick is a wonderfully flexible gag that involves many different castings (a girl as a man, etc). But I'd like Jumanji to bring some things to the real world rather than keep sucking people inside.
It's been many years since I've seen it, but isn't that exactly what the entire first movie was about? All the stuff - animals, hunters, etc. - coming out of the game and wreaking havoc in the real world?
Yes, it was. Jumanji bringing things out into the real world is as hazardous as sucking people into itself, there's an equal need to finish the game as fast as possible.

Probably wanting to be heroes again, and now that they survived it once they can survive it again. Which means Jumanji may change itself again...

That's awesome! Loved the sequel and I loved how they were really... respectful to Robin Williams with that little nod to him.
You might be right. The avatars might even be more serious than how the kids played as them. Maybe after the game was smashed, everything leaked out and caused a riot in town and the kids and the avatars must team up to save the city from becoming the new jumanji.
I was actually hoping it would be a new group of players, but the same in-game characters, just played wildly differently from before.
