If there is one character that I seem to struggle in obtaining for my Classics shelf is Shockwave, a while back the Cyber Battalion was spotted at Walgreens, despite my continuous visits looking for new Marvel Legends I never once found him. And now the new Siege Shockwave is "supposedly" out for sale but from my angle that can't be farther from the truth.

So which of the two do people prefer? I can get the Cyber Battalion Shockwave right now on Amazon for just under 33 dollars. Do I pull the trigger or do I wait and hope for a miracle in finding a Siege Shockwave?

I'm at a lost on this as right now I have no hope in getting Siege Shockwave, BBTS is horrible at getting in new Transformers and this makes month three I've had Shockwave on preorder with no movement. Amazon is asking way to much for him (& Ultra Magnus), and currently no retailers I've been to have sold the leader class size class. But Amazon does have a cheaper price Shockwave that I could get right now and not have to deal with the struggle and frustration.

I'd say be patient and wait for Siege Shockwave. He'll be readily available from multiple retailers before long (just like with PotP Leaders), and he's way better than the Cyber Battalion.

If you really want the Cyber Battalion one, though, do NOT pay ~$30 for it! CHL is selling a loose one for like $10 shipped over in the BST forum right now. And if you want a sealed one, I think a Walgreens near me still has it - if so, I could buy it and ship it to you for less than $30.

    Following.

My collection is mostly pre-Siege, and as it's largely for display the play value is of secondary concern... so I'm wondering if Cyber Battallion (cost to me, about £22) will actually fit better than Siege (cost to me, about £50).

I would wait for siege. It’s an all around excellent figure, and a availability should improve as I believe he will be repacked with the new leader Optimus.

Plus, knees. Although you can get a fix for that.

Siege, all day every day. Cyberbattalion is good, but Siege Shockwave is damn near perfect.

Even though this comes off as yet another "complain about distribution" thread disguised as a "help me decide" thread, Siege Shockwave will be shipping in wave three with Cybertron Prime. There will be more opportunities to pick it up over time.

Me personally, I'm fine with my CW Shockwave, but If that's too small for you, like it is more most, I say Siege, all the way. Honistely I'm tempted to get one my self, but $50 is a bit much for me to spend on Rear D

Sorry if the thread came off that way its just a bit frustrating how difficult it is getting one of the key Decepticons.

Oh I love CW Shockwave, even when I do get Siege Shockwave I'll still be using CW Shockwave as CW Bruticus' weapon.

youre right everybody needs a shockwave. it took me yrs, but now I own both. siege is fun to play with, but cyber battalion has a better shelf presence. me personally I prefer cyber battalion because hes much heftier. I think he looks really good amongst other Voyager sized decepticons. the price point is what bothers me though $33 on Amazon, that thing only retails for like $17.99. I've seen a few still on the walgreens shelves down here in Houston. I might be willing to get you one and mail it to you if you're that serious about it.. PM me...

also my local target had siege shockwave this mrng, which was a restock. maybe keep checking target and walmart if you decide you want the siege version. I think you'll come across it eventually... just a matter of time, patience, and persistence...

    Siege Shockwave, no contest.

Cyber Battalion is _ok_ but not satisfying. It's just good enough, but not great.

Siege Shockwave is the better toy. I have the Cyber Battalion on my desk, but only because I'm a cheapskate...and because I bought it long before Siege Shockwave was even announced.

Eventually, Siege Shockwave will end up half price or close to it. Leaders always do.

I'd say it depends. CB Shockwave is very good and fits the pre-Siege aesthetic (but not $33 good, avoid that).

Siege Shockwave is probably the better figure but fits aesthetically better with Siege than prior Generations offerings. It's also overpriced at $50 - not much you can do about that but hope for a sale.

So, if you have a piecemeal Generations shelf, go CB. If you are collecting Siege, I'd go with leader Shocky.

siege is an amazing shockwave figure. I love it Cyber Battalion is ok, but I only got him because I thought the Siege figure was going to be the same size as Overlord or POTP Optimus. He's not a bad figure if you can get him for 22ish or under, but Siege is an amazing figure. But it's all up to preference if you had a choice of a dry aged Prime Ribeye or a steak taco from taco bell which would you choose? I love T bell, its good for the price, but I'd much rather have the Rib Eye

I really like Cyber Batallion Shockwave, and even though I still don’t have Siege Shockwave, I’m gonna have to give it to Siege. Until the Siege version came out, CB Wave was certainly the best looking G1 Shockwave on the market, despite it sacrificing posability for cost. Siege blows it out of the water, though, looking even more like G1 Wave, even retaining the original’s space gun alt mode.

Now I’m just debating whether or not to get Ultra Class Cyberverse Shockwave.

My collection is CHUG and I'm fine with my Cyber Battalion figure holding that spot on my shelf. Not much in the department of articulation, but he's fine standing there. I think the Siege one looks great, but too different from all previous Generations releases. I think it will stand out and look a little odd. I'll probably the Siege one up once he hits his Voyager price-point of $30.

Quite honestly, I like them both. They both have pros and cons. I got Siege for $25 after a $25 gift card, but I definitely would recommend waiting on him to go on sale somewhere. If he goes down to $30 of less, I'd say get him. If you want a Shockwave that you can get a ton of play value out of with plenty of armor options, Siege would be the way to go. Cyber Battalion is a good choice if you don't have the money to spend on higher priced size classes. He does have some play value too but is hindered by the lack of knees. I'd say if you want more a display piece, then go with the Cyber Battalion option.

Now if Hasbro does a stand-alone release someday for Siege Shockwave without the extra armor, then go for that option. :D
