I hopped on the legends scale train recently with Iron Factory's Dubhe and The Tyrant. No regerts!

That is dang impressive.

CHUG love has fallen by the wayside. If I was to pick a reason it'd be the move to make every subline it's own thing.

When CHUG was king every year was a new wave in one ongoing collection. The name of the 3P game was filling holes with a side of add-ons. Makes sense, hard to push a toy that already has an official toy. CHUG now doesn't roll that way. Every few years everything changes and starts over. Not a good environment to fill holes. Takes to long.

3p CHUG now is mostly lines doing their own thing under their own inertia (Maketoys' Cross Dimension and MMC) or add-ons. There were greener pastures for the collection filling scene.

MP has had so many styles the only thing we can agree on is scale. So it's how CHUG used to be; any style that kinda works is fair game.

But legends is special because HasTak has been ignoring it outside small guys in their themed lines. It's a fertile ground that stays completely out of the official lines' way.

 

Just let me sell my chugs first.

 

im thinking 35 maybe 40. but i dont see it much higher than 35. MFT is really good at keeping their bots down in price no matter what they come with.

 

Given that they apparently have some kind of relationship with HS and this figure comes with as much as HS Optimus, I'd bet on $45-50 depending on where you get him from.

 

MFT's version of skyshadow / Blackshadow is 100% CHUG Deluxe scale he's quite similar to the Hasbro deluxe actally I've got mine on the shelf between Modern Triggerhappy and Slugslinger and he fits in perfectly with them. I can see some people thinking he's TO BIG due to actually being a cm or so larger than average for this type of figure - he's actually bigger than MFT Megatron and is about Dinobot size really.

This thing is very heavily redesigned from intial designs... Another interesting change is he has less of a back pack because the sides that would cover the back of the car mode are gone. Which draws the questions are his legs going to be red instead of dark grey because they are now the back of the car...

i think that was HS trying to get as much as they can to help their trip back from the dead zone. but im hoping MFT comes in at around the same price as the camera bros or the seakers. that's why im saying 35-40. plus MFT has a score to settle with Papa and they want to make that roddy a shelf warmer. but only time will tell
