Not seeing that myself? Everything from the knees down is the bull and the rhino. You can see both front and hind legs on the sides of the calves.
There's no way that the bird figure makes up the entirety of the torso, the waist , the crotch and the thighs. (sorry, can't remember all the characters names)
Pretty sure he's got separate pants that form at least part of the lower torso/waist as well. Looks like the bird turns into a cube that sits on the waist. Arms peg in to him on the sides.
Pretty positive this is a standard Zeta style pantsformer.
And I'm personally fine with that.

 

Yeah, I also feel like this will be Zeta best work, and I prefer this stylized look over the TW version which looked cool but it was heavily stylized.

I was thinking the same thing,the combiner thighs dont look too much like combiner parts but more so part of Razorclaw. But if it is combiner parts looks like its a better design than the previous ones...

For the life of me, I'll never understand the "pants-forming" controversy. There are just so many other things to worry about with combiners.

1. How good/true to toon/toy aesthetic do the bots look?
2. How good/true to toon/toy aesthetic do the alt-modes look?
3. How good/true to toon/toy aesthetic does the combiner look?
4. QC on the individual figures. What materials are used? How thin is the plastic? How thin is the paint? Is there chipping, cracking, breaking? How much chrome/metal is there on them? Is the QC inconsistent from one figure to the next? Are there wobbly/easily breakable joints, tabs?
5. How much articulation is there on the bots? On the combiner?
6. Are they true to Sunbow scale in combiner mode?
7. Ditto bot modes?
8. Ditto alt-modes?
9. IS THE COMBINER STABLE OR WILL IT FALL APART WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT FROM ACROSS THE ROOM?
10. Are the transformations fun and somewhat challenging but not so challenging as to make me openly cry and question the meaning of life?
11. Is the bot kibble under control or do the bots have backpacks like a 15-year-old taking all AP classes?
12. Are there any neat LEDs on the eyes or weapons?
13. Proper eye colors?
14. Any cool accessories?
15. Will I be able to afford this without giving up on eating and/or my significant other leaving me?
16. Will it be released before we all perish due to global warming or some unpleasant weapon sent by some unpleasant person?
17. No, seriously, does [insert pretentious reviewer here] like it because if he doesn't sign off on it I'm out, man.

If all those boxes are checked and everything else is equal, then yes, maybe I'll give half a shit about fake pants/feet/hands/head/chest whatever.

 

I'm tentatively interested...I've got a G1 original which stays in combined mode and the Feral Rex set who have great bot modes, but I could go some larger beast mode Predacons if the alt-modes turn out well.
I really liked their Skullcruncher, but so far Toyworld's Predacons design isn't really doing it for me.

 

Now Im totally down with the pantsforming, its been shown to be the best way to get a stable combiner (and before anyone trots out armageddon thats 1 of 3 zeta bots and his problems are weight and the shoddy connection for swindle, both of which they have rectified with the airialbots, not the pants).
I'm also going to say this is a line drawing so I'm taking it with a pinch of salt at this point.

All that being said, this looks suspiciously like a folded up foot to me, which is interesting.

 

Oh hell yes. TW has been teasing for what- a year now? They’re becoming FT with the long waits. Not that Zeta has been much better, but they may be cheaper. I just don’t love the square shoulder cannons:/

 

Maybe they have added in fake animal parts to make it look like he doesn’t have “pants”???

 

I know that TW said no parts forming. Maybe Zeta is actually doing that, too.

The thing we can all agree on is that the aesthetics will be sub bar on both. Any chance of a company doing a predaking with aesthetics like that sideswipe bull? Now THAT is how a predacon should look imho.

 

Let me know when ToyWorld produces something good (that isn't a Legends figure) and we'll talk.

Agreed, I think they could do to improve the aesthetic a bit. I know they're technically G1 but eh.
Granted, it's still just line art, so I think we have plenty of time for that.

Why even bother coming into every thread for Masterpiece-style figures if all you have to say is that you hate Masterpiece figures? It's even in your signature. Isn't that more than enough? I'm all for opinions, but when you just post the same thing in every thread, it's very tiresome...

To be fair, colour-changing toys are a thing, and you can always rip their legs off too.

The thing is, ToyWorld's Rampage is almost a 1:1 copy of an existing Zoids design. I'm just baffled that they made it Masterpiece-scaled. If you made it scale with Generations stuff, that thing would sell so much better.

Zeta said they probably wouldn't use pants in the future on Weibo a while back, but whether or not they're sticking to that is unclear right now.

Curiously, along the lines of what @Orion2703 mentioned, the torso looks like it's comprised less of fake parts and more of the limbs. It seems they've done a similar thing to POTP Predaking, except used a block of arms or something from both Divebomb and Rampage to create the sides of the torso.
Whilst I'd prefer they stuck with the pants, I'm very curious to see this either way. If they've found some magical way to do this without the pants and all the torso stuff we've seen on their Bruticus and Superion and it all works well and is stable, that would be quite something.

 

If Predaking is the next combiner then what of the other one Cheem mentioned the other day,he said Zeta was working on a couple.I hope and pray it is Computron as I am so sick of this Menasor Wars Crap.We need Preds and Comp the most,their are no decent MP Scale versions of these yet.

Also to add my   about the ToyWorld/Zeta discussion I just say whichever one is more decent or in my case whichever releases theirs first will likely be the one I choose as my Pred of choice I will get and keep.

Getting sick of hearing this. Skylynx doesn't have a scale. He could be half the size of MMC's and would fit perfectly the way he did in some cartoon scenes or he could be the size of a Power Wheels car and would fit in other scenes. He's not in any official scale chart. MMC scales in whatever collection you want him to. For me, he's going in my MP display and will scale perfectly with the other bots.

 

Looks like pants to me, which, after Superion, I'm ALL IN for pants!

However, unless this absolutely blows away (in looks and style only) my OS Feral Rex, this guy
won't see the light of day in my collection.

Defensor, Abominus, Computron, Piranacon… NONE of these have ANY competition in the MP Combiner Wars…
They could have made a killing.

Those aren’t pants. As someone pointed out, you can see the claws peeking out the back of the thigh, as well as the pivot point in the front connector area. The Combiner port is likely in the pivoting part of the leg.

Also, anyone notice Divebomb’s tailfeathers as a skirt?lol
