Hi all, sorry for the delay in getting back - so busy with work.

I tried cleaning all the connectors with rubbing alcohol and made sure all sockets are clean, etc....

.... still doesn't light up  


Just a little more info on the state of the statue on delivery.
Box was fine but Unicron's right horn was broken - but I was able to replace it albeit a bit of paint missing at the crack. Thankfully mostly at the back.
But I have had to get some orange/gold metallic paint which should make it virtually unnoticeable.

Also one of the arm spikes was loose - but I was able to stick it back in with no issues.


All in all, bit of a disappointing experience.

Soldier Story will not respond.

I haven't tried Paypal - but listening to some of the experiences above - is there much point in me trying???

Will never buy anything from Soldier Story or Loontentoys again.
Lesson learned!

looks nice. Wish mine came that way. Soldier Story never did reply to me and loontentoys just tried to push it off on them. Then they pretended to be working on it until it was too late for feedback or anything to be done through ebay. Will not be buying anything from either of them again as I had originally planned on getting the planet mode as well. Unfortunate as this would be a really nice unit otherwise.
Glad yours came in good shape like they all should of.

Since it’s been a few years and this company has gotten such a horrendous reputation for quality and zero support I assume the planet version they showed off is dead.

 

I'm surprised they were still even selling the Unicron statues. Mine did not seem to have any QC issues when I got it, and it is looking fine even now, although I haven't checked the electronics for a while. But it was indeed disappointing that this company gave zero F's for their product and customers. As such, it does seem highly likely that they won't be bothered with any more Transformers stuff, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

 

the only problem i have with mine is what looks like a hair on the projector lense did have a look to see if i could take it apart to clean it but one of the screws wouldn't come out so left it like it , but i never have the projector switched on anyway

still a little pissed the cybertron moon or mini cybertron it was displayed with was not included as it was obviously intended to have it

 

I got mine off eBay during the last flash sale. Saved a hundred bucks. There was a couple issues with mine though. One of the light covers on the outside calf of the right leg was loose in the styrofoam. It broke off somehow so I super glued it back in and it’s all good. I also had to reseat the right arm and clean out the contacts. Initially the right wing was dimmer but all that fixed it. Soldier stories qc hasn’t been the greatest from what I’ve seen here but I rolled the dice anyway because I really wanted the piece and came out happy. It’s unfortunate they never helped customers with their issues though. I’d still like to see the planet version come out but if it doesn’t I’ll be content with this.

I wish it came with that too! In that pic it looks like the hand is sculpted to be more open for the planet to fit in it than the official release.

 

I was disappointed by that too. Such a little thing, yet a tremendous piece to really make this statue shine. I'm at times tempted to ask that guy (forgot his name) that did the Unicron head statue and is working on the Cybertron model as well if he could do that. I did ask him if he would be willing to do so for the G1 Ark and Nemesis, to which he stated that he was considering that. But I am not pinning my hopes on that possibility.

Yeah, you got lucky as I had. It's a wonderful piece, albeit delicate in far too many ways, and at least you were able to fix it up to a point that suited your tastes. And that was smart thinking to use the flash sale to save a good $100, although it would have been nice if they didn't raise it $100 in the early part of last year, but as we've learned of Soldier Story, buy at your own peril, which shouldn't be the case, but to them it seems it has to be.

 

so i was thinking of making my own moonbase one for this to hold but then when looking at these pictures from the show displays not only did they decide not to include it they changed the hand design ! on the final production it has a tighter claw but on the diplay statue's it was a more spread out hand so it could hold the mini planet/moon.... it's actually going to be hard getting this to hold a sphere that size because of it   they should have redesigned which way the unicron head was looking

 

Would be tricky (and beyond my abilities) but maybe do one where he is crushing the planet. You could put the indentations from the fingers in it. Would look more natural that way and still be able to do same size planet.

If you succeed and it looks good, you could probably sell a few of those.
