Only interested in Defensor so this is an easy pass. Unfortunately this prolongs the wait for an MP Defensor but it does make the decision easier to consider Season Two complete without one.

Rather they'd do a different combiner. Preferably one of the autobot combiners. I hate having unbalanced collection and I almost always display figures with apposed faction. Especially combiners. We only have one have their Superion at this point. Predaking gets paired with Skylynx and a Predaking at this scale is going to look odd next to MMC Skylynx.

Between Feral Rex and Hasbro/Weijiang Predaking I'm more than satisfied. Only Predaking that would spark my wallets attention would be a Magic Square legends Predaking (and I bet that the engineering of that small miracle would put to shame any big swapforming version).

A pity that there is still only one version each of Abominus, Piranacon and Liokaiser.

Like @edgecrusher I would much prefer to get Defensor, but I'm still in on this. Predaking is a great combiner and one I've been hoping to see at this scale. I still have my MMC Feral Rex, and those figures are still wonderful - Razorclaw especially - but the combined mode does not cut it for me anymore. At the time he came out, the scale for MP and MP combiners wasn't really firmly settled, but things have changed a great deal over the years. Little side bonus: my MMC Predacons can continue to be my bot modes, so I only have to buy one set.

 

Plenty of salt for my fries in this thread. People seem to be very specific about Predaking

 

I'd wager you can expect a Defensor announcement soon too. Or some other Autobot combiner.

yo that “too blocky” argument isn’t gonna hold up over here anymore. same thing with the “no pants” argument. i’ve watched long haul, motormaster, and hot spot change color and then transform into legless torsos for years. and you expect that for the toys? we need pants (mmc i respect your bruticus but naw) for combiners. the day that everybody accepts that the majority of g1 episodes were drawn like ass is the day that we can move forward with pants 4 all.

Yeah, I'm hoping for sure. This announcement kind of gives some context, possibly, for the other thread talking about Zeta possibly raising prices. Can't imagine Predaking development is cheap, and they don't have Toyworld paying for their R&D anymore.

@corduroy Yes, I've often thought that people have some strangely puritanical notions when it comes to combiners, which are figures that pretty much have to throw out all the rules to have any hope of being worthwhile. I like MMC/OM generally but think their Bruticus looks wretched. The only reason I can think of buying it is because you value ideological purity over aesthetics. Somehow, it's better because it's all integrated, despite how it all looks.

The part of this that confuses me is what you're comparing it to. Unless Toyworld has announced or released some other combiner and I just haven't heard of it, Zeta is the one that designed TW's Devastator. So, they can't hold a candle to...themselves? Some product that doesn't exist yet? What is Toyworld even doing these days?

 

Not gonna lie, not liking the way these parts forming shorts are done, there's gotta be a different way to fix these boxers issues.

 

I trust that Zeta sticks to their roots with the torso/thigh partsforming for stability. Would rather have a Defensor or a Computron but oh well. I don't have a 3P Preadaking so this will most likely be my first

I'm buying the Zoids X Predaking, though i'll never combine them bcuz they're well out of my combiner sized but they are right up my alley, better looking than dx9 Rodimus tbeast. at the end of the day my predaking is MMC Nero Rex but these are freaking cool
