"TAKE IT, CRANE!" yells Joker. --- "On my world... he was my best friend. I dunno if we ever would've been as close as you and my counterpart seemed to have been. Who knows" she starts. "But when I became Spider-Woman, Ghost Spider... whatever they would call me, I inspired Peter. Because of a combination of bullying and a need to do good, he created a serum that changed him. But he couldn't control it. I thought... I thought I could subdue but I must've pushed him too far. I..." Gwen buries her face into her mask. "I... killed him." --- "You know we're in the base, you don't need to sneak on the ceiling just yet" jokes Steph. --- Jay flies forward into a wall. Both he and Wally run at Zoom from opposite sides, fists reeled for a punch. --- "Emergency services have this" Signal says, grappling to an adjacent building. --- Wonder Woman tries to get the lasso around Shazam again.
Robin jumps as the balls he released sent out a flash to blind the thug, aiming to take the woman away. --- Booster rolls his eyes as he sits at the helm of the jumpship. "Buckle up." "The wipers on the Jokermobile go swish swish swish..." Scarecrow sings off key "Clayface." --- Peter places his hand on Gwen's shoulder "I am so sorry..." He let's out a sigh "Well, I guess we are given a second chance through this. Keep a better eye on each other to make sure the other doesn't die." --- Bucky smirks and turns to Steph "Maybe he wants to stretch the way a spider can?" --- Zoom goes across the room --- Batman throws a batarang at the wizard.
A thin black vine of webbing snaps up the card. Deadpool grabs it as it comes back to him, and waves it at Mach X. "Hey, thanks!"
"Swish Swish Swish! Yes The wipers on the Jokermobile go swish swish swish...." Sings Clayface happy to show off his vocals albeit in the trunk. ----- Psylocke hops into a passenger seat and buckles up. She watches him work the controls in case she needed to fly this vehicle herself. ------- "But... what about Robin?" Superboy asks jumping onto a lightpole and then leaping to a rooftop. ----- "Whoa!" Shazam rolls out of the way of the lasso. "Not again lady!" "Enough. Your lesson is taught and we have no more business with these people. Let's go." replies the Wizard sternly as he grabs Shazam's arm and teleports them away just as Batman's Batarang zips through and lodges itself into the wall behind where the Wizard once stood. Back at the Rock of Eternity.... "Shouldn't we have tried to apologize to them?" asks Shazam. "you were apologizing. It wasn't working. No point wasting your breathe on such people." answers the Wizard. "But... 'such people' are heroes. Some of the best Earth has." protests Shazam. "And yet they have not the heart or power to face the darkness that is coming to this Universe. They don't see the signs." states the Wizard. He nods at Shazam. "For all the blundering you did today, I am satisfied we were able to get a lesson or two out of it. You return home and rest now." "Ok." Shazam nods and shouts "SHAZAM!" He transforms back into Billy Batson. "Sleep well Billy." the Wizard states before teleporting Billy back to his bedroom in Wisconsin.
"Will you three shut up" echoes Grodd's voice through Clayface, Joker and Scarecrow's minds. "It's band enough I have to keep attuned to your minds to follow your route. I don't need you're shrieking in my head as well." --- "Yeah..." says Gwen through her mask. She puts the mask down and wipes away tears. "Do you still have online shops in this world?" Gwen asks. "I can't wear this costume forever." --- "Are you quoting the spider-merch jingle?" asked Steph. "Spider-Man brand weights" says Nightwing, shaking his head. --- Wally rushes behind Zoom to punch him before he recovered. --- "Trust me, give him a few minutes and he'll come out saying that we just waisted his time" said Duke. "How he could do this faster without us. It's routine." --- "I don't like this" said Diana as the wizard and Shazam disappear. "We've got a superpowered child with powerful abilities, and a wizard who's simply stubborn. I don't want to see what the kid will do." "Well, if it's alright I'll fix the damage done to the station" said Cyborg, heading back down the corridor. It was at this time Batman's personal phone began ringing.
As if on cue, April poked her head out of the wing. "Took you guys long enough." "Indeed. What do you think of the proposal?"
Booster flies the ship to the coordinates of Jason Blood's home to reveal it looking like... "Sounds like he is afraid to open up." Scarecrow states. --- Peter pulls out his laptop and hands it to her. "Walmart, Amazon, target, and a few others sell them cheap enough. Unfortunately I am not a multi-millionaire so try not to go too high." He quips, trying to lighten the mood. --- Bucky chuckles "Maybe..." --- Zoom recoils from the punch. "You actually hit me?" --- Batman grunts "I will tell Dick and the rest of the team to keep an eye out." He then picks up "Who is this."
Dick scratches his head. "Well, you can go at whatever speed you want, but I've got the keycode" Dick says, walking up. Steph follows him up the ramp, and sits in one of the seats. "Alright, strap in" Dick says as he sits in the pilot's seat. --- An old terraced house that was covered in dust. Trash had been thrown over the wall into the small paved section in front of the house. If they were to look in, the front room would also be covered in dust. An equally dusty book sat on the table, next to a dirt cup and a stale biscuit. It was clearly no-one had been here in quite a while. --- "I'm sure one of your counterparts is" says Gwen. Browsing through, she buys a number of shirts, jeans, shoes and socks, and hovering over her cart. "Are you rich enough for me to do next-day delivery?" she asks. "Because as much I love my costume, I cannot spends the next few days in it. --- "Mr Wayne, it's Wendy" said the voice of his secretary. "Mr Wayne, you have a visitor. He said you were expecting him. He's waiting in your office. Should I tell him you had to cancel?" --- "Awww, did the wickle gowilla have a trauma?" mocked Joker. "I hate humans" groaned Grodd, following the car from rooftops. --- "I guess that happens when you're not someone's arch-enemy" shrugs Wally. "I mean, I'm a total wildcard for you." Jay then uses the opportunity to launch a kick at Zoom.
The thug screams at the flashbang covering his ears instively, giving Robin the opportunity he needed to free the woman. The villain would have done more, has he not finally collapsed then from blood loss. Superboy watches it with x-ray vision from a rooftop. "Ah nevermind. Robin has it." ------- "I hear jealousy in his head voice." grins Clayface from the trunk. ----- Psylocke looks at the layout unimpressed. "So our great warrior, lives in a dump like this. Charming." ----- Bily Batson lay on his bed thinking about all that happened. He KIND OF fought the Justice League. How crazy was that. Huh. He was pretty sure if they ever got mind controlled by evil villains or something, then he could beat them now! Or.. well, maybe not that Wonder Woman. She was scary. And Batman was tricky. So maybe him... huh. Wait, why was he even thinking about this? Billy turned over on his bed and held his superdog plushie to his chest. As he drifted to sleep he couldn't help but think Reader could have taken on all those Justice League members too.
Abner nodded. "My pleasure." Mac looked down at the card in his hand. "You know, it couldn't hurt. I never really thought about what I'd do after I took care of Bane. Maybe I've been given another chance to turn my life around..."
Bucky sits and buckles up. --- Peter smirks at the comment. Filling out the information for the payment. "Alright, it should be here tomorrow." He then stands up. "Want to borrow some sweats of mine for today at least?" --- "Who did he say he is?" Batman asks. --- Zoom glares as his body begins to vibrate faster. He goes to grab Jay's leg and aim to swing him at Wally. Robin clicks his tongue "Everyone." He turns to the hostages "Does anyone need medical attention?" --- Scarecrow snickers at Clayface's comment. --- "He likes having a low profile." Booster states as he lands the ship. He presses a button on the left of the steering stick to activate a cloaking on the ship. He stands up "Let's meet a Demon."
"Toldja" Duke said. --- "I hear crushing pain in your head" growls Grodd, attacking Clayface's mind. --- Zoom successfully grabbed Jay's leg, but Wally managed to duck under it, throwing a punch at Zoom's chest. --- "If they fit" she shrugs. "Gotta be better than nothing."
"Speaking of second chances..." Otto began, acting like Mac had given him the perfect segue. "I need your help with something."
Mac glared at him. "Otto, I couldn't stand you when we were criminals, let alone attempting to reform as superheroes. Why would I do you a favor?"
"Just need a bandage.." jitters the woman whom Robin rescued. The others hiding in the closet shake their heads. Superboy's tummy suddenly growls. "Oh... superheroing is hungry work." He digs into his pockets and starts counting out coins. ------ "Grahhhh!" Clayface swirls around in clay form trying in vain to dislodge Grodd's attack. ------- "Well then, let's make ourselves acquainted." states Psylocke exiting and proceeding to walk with confidence toward the beaten up door. She knocks.
"Two reasons. One: It's what a hero would do. Two: I am not the Otto Octavius you have a problem with. He was just arrested, and what I am asking your assistance with involves hampering his plans."
Zoom then let's go of Jay, hopign he would be thrown. At the same moment he phases his body through the punch of Wally before aiming an elbow at the center of Wally's back. --- Peter goes to grab the sweats and passes them to her. "Bathroom is the door on the left of the hallway." Robin nods. He kicks the thug in the head to make sure he stays down, then lifts the woman to take outside to the paramedics. --- Scarecrow shakes his head "So Joker, any other planned recruits for our team?" --- Booster walks up behind her and waits. He looks at the windows to see if they have lights on.
"Wait, you can't just go in the street in your super-suit and casually ask for food" said Duke. "Get some plainclothes. And probably glasses. I hear those help." --- "Hmmm..." mused Joker. "Anyone we know being held at the Raft? Or Strykers?" Joker either didn't notice Clayface being psychically attacked by Grodd, or just entertained by it. Most likely the latter. --- "Thanks" said Gwen, taking them into the bathroom. After a while, she came out with he spider-suit in her hands. "So, do I just stick them in the wardrobe?" she asks. --- There were no lights on in Blood's house. Despite this, the lamp nearest the window was distinctly in the "On" position, despite also not glowing. --- "ARGH!!!" yelled Wally as the elbow hit his back. Jay meanwhile, manages to turn himself to kick himself off the wall Zoom threw him at and fly at Zoom with a punch. "You're going down Zoom!" he yells. --- Dick flies the Wing out of the hangar, and they're soon above Star Labs in Chicago, and come to land nearby. "Alright, let's go!" he said, getting up. "Let's get this situation sorted out." Dick walked out of the Wing and waited for everyone to get off. Steph stood up, and passed by Miles. "You feeling up to this?" she asked. "He just said it was urgent. Blonde, goatee. Rather rude, if I'm honest, Mr Wayne."
the woman holds on to Robin till she is deposited. "Thank you." ---- "knock it off!" yells Clayface. ----- "Hmm." Psylocke smirks to herself. "You know in situations like these, we have a solution in the X-men."
Robin walks over to the other heroes "I see you did adequate jobs." --- Scarecrow thinks while being oblivious to the screams "I think there are a few... Maybe we can find one of the mirror flash or whatever they are called." --- "Wherever you think you can get to it fast." Peter states "I have one of mine near each exit for that reason." --- Booster raises his brow "What do you mean?" --- Zoom goes to grab Wally, aiming to use him as a human shield. --- Bucky walks out and turns to Dick "Doing good leading them man." --- "I am on my way to the office anyway, tell him to wait a little while." Batman hangs up and turns to Cyborg "I have a....personal annoyance to attend to, keep me updated if anything goes wrong or if you find the boy causing trouble again." Batman leaves through the Zeta tube into a small garage in a random building down the block from the Wayne building that the visitor is visiting. He enters the car parked there and undresses his suit, puts on a new suit with a pressed tie and drives to Wayne Enterprise. As he nears the corner, he presses a button on the dashboard that shifts his seating so he is sitting in the back while a projection of Alfred is shown in the front seat. The car activates autopilot as it shifts and stops in front of the main entrance for Bruce to step out. He walks up to the building while straightening his collar. "Another day..." He enters his express elevator to get to his office's floor. Stepping out of the elevator he turns to his secretary "Where is this appointment of mine, Wendy?" Bruce states with his deep tone that could cause a woman to be swept if she had one drink in her.
