That looks fantastic, any chance the thigh/shoulder parts will be available in black or grey for Unicronus?

There is no grey option for some reason on Shapeways, but I'll add black to the list of materials. Thanks!

Glad this popped up again, I'd forgotten about this gem. Saving the thread this time.

I wish this is the upgrade kit that Shockwave Lab had picked up. Way more of an improvement than poseable hands. Shame Shapeways makes it prohibitively expensive.

You just gotta get a bunch in a row. I've noticed the prices for a lot of Shapeways mods and such are decent to fairly priced it's the shipping that nails you if you get only one item. It hurts more when the item is less than the shipping/close to it.

So to combat this, I order a couple of items all at once. If it's offered, take advantage too of the shipping priority discount. If you check off delay, you get a discount for your item.

Thanks for the purchase! So, before I put them up for sale, I ordered a set from Shapeways and they fit, but I've had other folks mention different results with them, so there is a V2 up for sale now that was adjusted to fit better based on folks' feedback. For folks that bought the first version, they could dremel or file the internal side of the screw post down a bit until the gap is reduced and the stock screws grab, as shortening that post was the main revision on the v2. I'll try to post some pics showing what I mean soon. I think there's some inconsistencies when shapeways prints, so it's hard to nail down what updates might be needed. For example, now they're saying their yellow plastic can't handle the design, but the white plastic can... In any case, I definitely will try to help out anyone that bought a set when they have any feedback or issues.

Ah so they should be flat on the back side rather than having the raised peg? I think i can fix that pretty easily with my exacto knife. Ill wait until i see your pics :)

FYI the V2 thighs/shoulders can't be printed in black. I ordered 2 sets (1 black, 1 white), the white apparently went through fine but I got notice they couldn't make the black so they just cancelled that item.

Already emailed a complaint to Shapeways to tell them its messed up that I now have to pay their already unreasonable shipping costs in full again because they screwed up and shorted me an item. In the long run its only $6 but its more the principle of them dropping the ball then handing me the bill for it.

Right now, I've pretty much given up on Shapeways. Every other sale has been canceled lately, all for items that printed fine at some point previously. The dumb thing is their site "tests" everything before uploading, and they all upload fine! But once a sale happens, boom, "problem with the model" message. wtf
Very sorry to anyone who's purchased a model through my shop but then had to deal with a cancelation... All I can keep doing is going back in to tweak the model to try and appease their stupid system. Really Shapeway, it prints fine in one color, then doesn't in another? Ugh.

Hey not your fault, I’ve heard many designers echo the same sentiment. Shapeways just needs to get their shit together.

If your order hasn't shipped yet, you can choose to add an item to an existing order when you make a new order, so you won't have to pay separate shipping. Only works if you have a Shapeways account though (doesn't work with guest checkout).

Yeah unfortunately I got the emails of ‘this one didn’t work’ and ‘item shipped’ back to back.

Yeah, that sucks. They ought to tell you it can't print long before it ships, not right before shipping :(

So, I checked on the "issue" Shapeways reported. Apparently, the sprue size on the model is too small so I have to beef it up. Thing is, the sprues have been the same on this model since the very first time I uploaded the design, and it's been printed successfully several times already, but now SW is saying they're too fragile? I don't know if this is some kind of cash grab to get people to add more plastic to their designs and bump up Shapeways cut of the overall price on things, but it seems super questionable/shady. =/

I didn't mind ordering in white, so it might be worth re-uploading for the new one, and just putting a disclaimer in the description of the original.

My order shows it as being printed at this point.

Also has anyone found a similar orange to use for painting?
