GigaPower Dino - GUTTUR (MP Snarl)

The first post was Feb 2014 in the Guttur thread. 2014 was the first anyone had heard of Gigapower.

I don't feel that is right. Here is a link to Grassor that was started in May 2014, there is no way in hell Gigapower showed a Guttur prototype in February 2014 and then had a drawing of Grassor 3 months later.
    Gigapower MP Grassor (not slag)

2012 Quackwave wasn't even out, was it? That was really the birth of the modern 3P MP movement and a few years prior to FansToys attacking & harassing Giga.

Yeah they did, it seems they worked on all of them pretty much concurrently. Gigapower showed early drawings of these guys VERY early.

    GigaPower HQ-05 Gaudenter (MP Swoop)
Gaudenter's thread was started late 2014 also and still hasn't been released.

    GigaPower HQ-04 Graviter (MP Sludge)
Graviter was 2015, and took about 3 years to release.

I'm sure someone else realized this before, but just realized that the TF names are T-Rex beginning with a 'G' and then the other 4 beginning with an 'S.' Gigapowers are 4 names beginning with a 'G' and then the T-Rex beginning with an 'S'.

Shame he doesn't wear his tail kibble on his legs like the G1 toy.

Given that GP likes to homage the toys in their designs, it's a little odd they didn't do it this time. Not that I mind too much, but it would have been something to distinguish him from Grinder and the Takara Grimlock.

Yeah it was a decent figure but not the Holy Grail most FT Boyz made it seem like. The electronics in the head were all jacked up because they were crammed in there and transforming it risked completely messing up the arm lights. I was happy to unload it especially after you know who went in the Giga threads and starting trashing them and bragging about stealing their designers. "They will never finish the line!" o_O

Even tho I own 2 Rex Primes, I'm def picking this up as it's the best Grimlock I've seen since G1.

Yeah, I find it odd that they're going towards toon, since all their other figures barely resemble the toon. I love the way those look, but I'm disappointed in the way this looks right now.

Eh, it's consistent with the other releases. Just clearing a bit of the kibble away to make them a bit more streamlined. Guttur puts the dino head away, Grassor has the dino legs, and Graviter hides the tail.

FT compromised Sever in dino mode to hide the legs and head. If GP could have hid both with no compromise they would but it was understandable to leave the legs out because it has to be done on Sludge both in FT and GP. GP wisely left the option open for Grassor. Superator was destined to follow the path of the others when the exposed tail wasn't a character feature but an early 1980's design and cost limitation.

I can't wait to finish this group off, it feels like it's been so long since I jumped in with Snarl. I'll be looking to get that throne for Grimlock as well, really wish I had a War Within version of Grimlock as well.

Well, they made up for it by having Grassor's tail kibble on the legs. Still the biggest thing that bugs me about any of their bots. Just give him a backpack, it's so much better than having the tail sit on the back of the legs, especially considering how big the tail bits are. Other than Grassor, I've loved their Dinos. I personally think that the FT bots fit in better with the original MP aesthetic (glad they were released before the MP line went full toon), but the Dinobots are my favorite Transformers group, so getting a second set that just looks bad ass on their own (Grassor isn't bad, just not up to par with the other two)? I'm in!
Still a little sad that Swoop didn't stick to their original line art that made him look as intimidating as the other Gigasaurs, and while their Grimlock looks good, I think the reason why I sort of agree with your take on having the tail kibble be on the side of the legs, is that the legs seem really thin compared to the rest of him, especially when compared to the other Gigasaurs. But for better or worse, I'm still in, though.

Is it wrong that I'm still hoping that the Spark Toys Grimlock will still come to fruition someday?

I can only think of one issue with actually getting the Spark Toys Grimlock. It means that I'm going to want Spark Toys to make the REST of the Dynobots.
    Vicious cycle.

I've already pre-ordered the chrome version but now I'm considering the metallic as well since I have both MP-8 and MP-8X and regular and shiny Grinders.

    Decisions decisions.

Did the G1 Grimlock have a chrome sword ???
I never knew, my original Grimmy only had the red sword and twin blasters/missles accessories.
Never seen the chrome sword !!

Must be one of those regional differences. I seem to remember something similar occurred with Slag.
