I went back 15 pages, but I didn't see a thread for this. Anyone interested in this game? I'm personally interested in this game.
Be a boneheaded decision if it was; the game already looks like Destiny-lite so restricting it to the same platform as Destiny is not just inviting failure, but giving it brandy, a cigar and a blowjob at the door.
It's not an exclusive. It's also available on Xbox One and PC... hell most of the marketing is on the Xbox One X or PC builds from what I can tell.
I assumed as much. Either way, its looking more and more like Anthem is BioWare’s writ of execution that EA has forced them to write.
I'm cautiously optimistic, to be honest. There's a lot about the beta that I absolutely adored (and bear in mind, I'm one of the people that can't get away from Destiny since launch), and a pile of things I hope they can fix in the (little-less-than-a) month before release. Performance, even on the X, was all over the place.
Ya, I’m not surprised at all. So wait it’s now a PS4 exclusive? I have been playing vip demo on PC since Friday. Lol
What they said at E3 was that all updates and post-release content will be completely 100% free, and that there'll be no way to pay for upgrades and power increases and that any microtransactions wouldn't be loot boxes. So basically the way they're handling the microtransactions is more akin to a Titanfall 2 scenario where everything that's actual content is completely free, and what you can buy is stuff that you know 100% up front what you're getting.
You know what? The next time EA has a press conference, I’m going to find a lawyer or law school student and watch it with them. That way, I have someone to read between the lines and tell me “EA can’t screw you over in this way, but they never mentioned anything about this...”
Um.....no. They said no paid lootboxes. Regardless, I'll be buying this game. Just because it has "EA" on the box doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the BioWare part.
I'm not even really annoyed by this anymore knowing that Cyberpunk and Outer Worlds are on the horizon. If CDPR are going to keep making ridiculously high quality games and if MS don't fuck with Obsidian too much beyond providing money and tech support, then I don't need Bioware anymore.
Maybe so, but the company behind Mass Effect (fuck you all, 3 is fine with the HE mod), KotoR, Jade Empire, and DragonAge deserve a grander swansong than whatever the fuck this is supposed to be.
Agreed on all accounts. If anything, I think they’re biggest mistake was letting Casey Hudson go in the first place. He’s back now, but it may be too late for him to right the ship. Anthem was already deep into development when he came back, and it’s definitely not the kind of game that BioWare fans were hoping for. I don’t know if he was involved in the new Dragon Age that was announced, but I just have this weird feeling that is going to be a mess if it even comes out (if Anthem fails, that game could go the way of Fable Legends). I don’t really see a scenario where BioWare returns to the heights of ME and KOTOR in the near future unfortunately.
The game looks great to me. But as a Bioware game? Lacking. Will that be enough for some? Maybe, maybe not.
