Got skytread from amazon. He is way better then Battletrap. Both molds are more solid and easier to transform. Does that make battletrap bad? No. Do I wish he didn’t have needless secondary robot modes? Hell yea. It was a neat concept at the time. But anyways, Skytread is great. I had to do the mod to get the tank mode right other than that, yup top Decepticon deluxe for sure

I like, but he is a bit disappointing to me in a world where Battletrap has such lovely individual robot modes to play with. I ended up shooting a little footage, can't wait to see the reprolabels set for Flywheels!

I think it's a good toy. I like it better than Battletrap personally, as that toy having both separate and combined posable robot modes results in a mush-pile of joints that I don't care for. I like the relative simplicity of Flywheels/Skytread in that regard, and the interchangeability between the two Duocons is nice. I think the only real issue I have with Flytread/Skywheels is the 'tank barrel' gun doesn't seem to fit well in the central hole (where a tank gun barrel goes) in tank mode on mine, and some of the weapons ports are a smidge on the loose side. Overall, there's little wrong with the toy at all, and it all feels like good quality, yet the toy doesn't particularly excite me like Hound or Sideswipe did. Perhaps it's just because I have no personal connection with the Treadwheels/SkyFly character, despite having the G1 version in my youth, and having formed connections with 'nobody' toys in the past.

Summed up "Like it, don't love it, nothing much wrong with it.."

Got this guy the other day, only opened him last night.

I originally scoffed at the price until I remembered it's how much I ended up paying for Battletrap. In that regard they actually cost about the same.

Color scheme is better between the two. Tab in tank mode is still an issue, otherwise he's fine. If he's got anything over Battletrap it's that he comes with his own weapons (I had to give Battletrap one of the Primemaster weapons to fix that). Having a bunch of ports over him could make him even more interesting if I got more 'arms-up' pieces.

    Goes real well with Battletrap.

Only thing is now I need to figure out what to do with the Titan Master (I gave the vehicle/weapon to Blitzwing because reasons, but that still leaves the head free for 'something').

I just got this guy today, and I'm curious- is the a reason people aren't doing the tabs on the top of the tank to square it up? It's a bit tight and scary to plug in all the way, but one you do it looks perfect. Is there a breaking concern?

This is the first Transformer I've bought in a brick and mortar store for a very long time! I had to wait an age for the privilege (could have got him online before xmas) but he was worth the delay. G1 Flywheels was a favourite of mine, and this figure is like a love letter to that character. Unexpected considering how obscure he was, but most welcome. I wish he'd been bigger (somehow the online photos made him look larger), and it's odd that the jet can't connect to the tank, considering how many other ports are all over him, but still a solid 9 out of 10.

I removed the battle damage paint, and did a little repaint to the cockpit, and he's basically Masterpiece Flywheels now!

For me this is the weakest siege so far. The tank mode needs modding for it to tab together correctly and even then it looks bad from the back. The tank turrent doesn't tab in well and has no movement (even the titan master version had more than that). In bot mode the plane parts in back interfere if trying to rotate the hips for some poses. I want to like it more than I do

Unfortunately, I completely agree. Siege has been so far, to me, nothing but home runs. Skytread is FAR from bad, he's still good, but he's the most flawed so far. Luckily, I'm OK with modding, so hopefully I'll move him from "better than just okay" to "pretty good!"

Honestly, there's so much flex in the plastic and it's such a minor part of the figure that I personally am not worried at all about it.

The designers did a fantastic job of making this figure look just like the animation from the old 1980's commercial:

I was looking to animate the clip from the s4 opening titles, but while googling Flywheels' cartoon appearance the commercials came up, and I thought it was pretty cool the way the jet spirals in at the beginning! So you get a bit extra :)

As an aside, I found another version of the Duocon advert where for some reason the whole thing is actually redrawn (quite badly).

Quote of the day: "Galvatron that jet's going to crash into a tank!"

I like how you incorporated the animation from the dust and treads, plus how his barrel "hammerspaces" during the quick transformation sequence. You tried to make the jet mode as tight looking as possible by also removing the arms temporarily, I saw. Nice touch.

    Very well done.

    Lol cheers!
Thanks, yes if there's one thing I'm not keen on it's the arms hanging under the jet. But they are on pegs so at least it was easy to remove them. And the barrel would look odd just vanishing so I had to cheat it retracting similar to the original animation.
    Glad you like! :thumb
