I have been eyeing this set for awhile now after the disappointment of Hasbro's Predaking in my eyes (looks ok but too damn big). After some thought I decided to purchase this. I'm not sure when I will ship my POL but look forward to getting it. Just an FYI for anyone wanting this set for cheap, BBTS only has 12 left in stock (you can check the amount by adding the max 10 then adding one at a time to check quantity).

 

The loose sets for $120? I just picked him up too. And Soundmixer.

Got him and and he was WELL worth $120. I'm very pleased.

The individual bot-modes are pretty meh. They lack some articulation I'd like to have such as bicep and wrist swivels. The beast modes are actually pretty great and after the excitement of the combined mode wears off I'll probably display the figures in their beast modes from time to time.

Combined is solid! I love the look and proportions and he's incredibly sturdy. My only complaint is one loose thigh swivel and ankle rockers aren't ratcheted. The toe lights are LOL but kinda cool I guess.

He matches up with my Combiner Wars gestalts perfectly.

 

I think it depends on what you want. Personally I think Titan Devy and Titan Predaking are too big to go with the other HasTak combiners, so I have my Hasbro combiners with Warlord and TFC Hercules. I think it works pretty well, too. They're all closer in size that way, and Warlord even has the thigh-elbows that the officials do. The biggest difference is that the 3P stuff has better hands and feet, but if you have any upgrade kits for the officials then so much the better.

 

I second this entirely and have exactly the same setup for matching Combiner Wars (Warlord and TFC Herc).

I got my Warlord when he first came out. I had to figure out those mods myself, but I don't see any fixes for the thigh swivel other than floor polish so I thought I'd share what I did to fix this.

Made a tool using my Dremel.

Took the leg apart to make it easier to work with. Then folded the lower leg to have access to the pin for the thigh swivel, and used the tool to gently work under the head of the pin.


I thought I may need my soldering iron to heat the pin, but both sides actually just popped right out with very little work, no heat required.


Then find 2 screws slightly longer than the pins you just removed that will fit into the pin holes. I was going to Dremel "teeth" somehow to provide ratcheting on the thigh swivel, but decided to try some of that LazerBond and made some lines on both pieces.

Then put everything back together using the screws. The combination of the Lazerbond ratchets and making the swivel much tighter using the screws, there is enough resistance to the thigh swivel that it is no longer an issue.

hey guys. I lost the instructions for my Unique Toys Predacons. is there anyone out there in TFW2005 land that can scan the instructions for me and email them?

 

I definitely need to do this with mine! Mine is loose everywhere over 8 years since this was announced and it still looks amazing! No other Predaking that’s come out has topped this IMO. For full Predaking mode that is(individual Predacons aren’t bad but they are too small for my taste lol)

I must say, I kinda regret not getting this...

 

so happy I bought mulitiples of this guy ( for my kids ) they love it and it scales perfectly with the Chug stuff ( minus the official devy and predaking of course, which I skippped )

 

When I fold sharp claws legs in it’s such a pain to fold back out that it ripped the pin off the leg I took the opportunity to replace the pin with a thicker an bigger screw now the leg is super tight an secure I can even survive a drop test with my warlord.

after a few times of transforming him back an forth it gets way easier to clip in his transformation pegs. Dive bomb slots in like butter an rampage still takes a lil more force.

My wing pack hinge on the left side cracked but it makes it way easier to put on an off and it does hold just as secure when slot back on.

 

So I decided to combine this guy after 8 years in bot team mode, and I have had serious problems to collapse Tantrum's legs, had to use all my strength for one of them, and for the other I used some silicon oil and worked. Funny that both of them worked normally after that, not sure why they were so stuck.

Then I have made two "downgrades" to it for a less stylised look and more G1ish. Always thought that he hipguards were too large, so I cut their lower long sides and put them upside down, and the big wings are cool and all but they scream fake part to me (it's like removing Octane's wings in bot mode to put fake smaller ones), so I have removed them from the back part and made rudimentary adaptors for the small ones, a bit too small but they don't disturb me like the fake ones.



The figure is wobbly and made of cheap KO plastic (why did we pay so much money for it back then...?), but it's beautiful as fuck, still my fav Predaking out there (...maybe because of that).

Now I'm excited about MPG Raiden, because I will be able to display the individuals with my MPs and, if it's true that the combiner is only about 29cm, it will be perfect to display fighting this guy (which is no much more than 30cm).

 

I agree. I thought he looked better than the other 2 that came out around the same time. i still want to vet the OS MMC one though just because of the size.
