So Blitzwing was just a generic seeker with a tough personality?

I like his character a lot, but what I notice from the Cybertron scene, there were lots of seekers similar to him with grey color without any red. So I wonder why didn't the studio just removed the redness in him, to separate him completely from Starscream? If they had done that, do you think the Starscream\Blitzwing confussion would die out?

    Pretty much.

From what I remember there's even a copy of him on Cybertron, grey with red, or maybe it's meant to be him? Idk, Getting rid of the red definitely would have helped.

He's never named in the movie, so all they really needed to do was give him a more generic color scheme. Like this: [IMG]

As it stands he just looks like Earth Starscream.

There are a shit ton of seekers with same colorings on cybertron, including Blitzwing. The one where Bee kicked Skywarp's head into was a cybertronian Blitzwing.

Probably yeah. If those characters actualy show up in a future movie in a major role you can probably expect them to have more detailed and recognizable designs than being identical to other generic thugs, in the same way that you can probably expect Optimus in the next movie to actualy have a fully designed earthly robot mode instead of "his cybertronian robot mode with new wheels".

Yes. Blitzwing was a generic Seeker who happened to have the same name as Blitzwing.

I'd say generic since they never actually say his name. Plus for a lot of people it just doesn't seem like Blitzwing with only one vehicle mode.

It kind of seems like the only reasons Travis Knight might have named him is because Knight is a fan of Blitzwing and he needed to clear up the whole thing about it not being Starscream. Although with the colors if you hadn't been keeping up with all the movie news it would be easy to think Starscream.

I actually don't think Travis named him. It was probably Hasbro since now they have a larger control of the films. They chose a name that can be marketable and can keep the trademark active. All this Seeker was supposed to be is a homage to Starscream in Travis' eyes.

It was a nameslap. Besides having a jet alt mode, nothing said Blitzwing. They didn't even name him in the film. Would have taken just 1 line. Have Bumblebee say "You won't win, Blitzwing" during their fight.

To be honest, I would have preferred the name Ramjet.

All I know is that at least there weren't any captions, like how there were with Brawl in TFTM07 to muddy the waters.

He wasn't even called 'Blitzwing' in the movie.

Blitzwing could still appear in a future film.

That did kinda irk me TBH. But yeah. Cybertronians share names all the time. Scourge, Scourge, and Scourge are great examples. Different dudes, same names. The same can be said for half of the Beast Wars line. So the original Blitzwing appearing in a future movie could still happen.

I was rewatching the cybertron scene again, and I think the studio should have just made him look like ''the supposed Skywarp'' seeker or seekers. People would probably bitch about why does Blitzwing look like Skywarp, but I don't think to that degree like with Starscream. Also, the purple would match better to the original Blitzwing.

I mean. When you come right down to it, aren’t we all just “generic seekers with a tough personality”?
