If you're asking, overlord towered over Super Ginrai. I think he was only slightly taller than God Ginrai @ibot

 

Darn i would buy this solely for the combiner mode, first time i've seen a proper ginrai with a sleek profile. @ibot nice work

 

For me it's not the price that kills it. It's just how it looks. Ginrai feels like he's too tall and that alt mode is just not good with anything past the doors. And all of them feel like they needed another design pass. I just don't see the inherent value here.

 

How long before BBTS has preorders up ? They take forever doing everything these days

 

Trey nailed it. God ginrai was about equal to overlord. Super ginrai was much smaller.

@ibot if you're considering a masterforce version of overlord, PLEASE, PLEASE make the damn chest blue instead of white. Overlord has wide, white shoulders in the cartoon. His chest was blue. The old g1 toy had those white chest panels that flipped out to reveal the godmaster ports and also gave the illusion of the shoulder panels looking wide

P.s. if you make a black zarak i'l just start signing over paychecks. Simba was badass (except the gold chrome). 1 of my favorite 3p mp scaled figures. A black zarak of that calibre would be phenomenal.

 

See this is where the damn scale gets wonky. Overlord seemed only slightly (maybe 20%) larger than God Ginrai but seemed (40%) larger than super Ginrai. But overlord was combiner size, evident in that episode of zone when he's a decepticon general and the same size as the combiners. But king Poseidon TOWERED over super/God Ginrai.

 

King poseidon changed sizes a lot. Some screens he dwarfed everyone, others he was the same size as god ginrai, who was rather huge.

 

I was trying to figure out who the anomaly was. I figured it would make sense to make poseidon and raiden MP combiner sized (19-20") if possible could you give your opinion on the possible sizes for
Grand maximus, overlord, raiden and poseidon, and black Zarak, when compared to this 16.5" God Ginrai?

There you can see that even hunched over Overlord is taller than God Ginrai standing straight.

Now this wasn't necessarily shown in the cartoon consistently, but as a frame of reference, there is the proof. At the very least, Overlord definitely has more mass than God Ginrai

 

I have to say, the shots of Ginrai sitting in the cab driving really got my attention.

 

No I have to disagree..using wide, white shoulders would be taking a blatant animation cop out and using it as a frame of reference for actual toy shoulders. That's an error.

Overlord's chest IS white (well, really only the pectorals) because they are the covers for the godmasters

Those aren't "wide shoulders" they're the chest panels drawn as open and, because of the requirements of anatomy, they basically were drawn as attached to his actual shoulder for simplicity's sake. In each of these shots below you can see his actual shoulders behind each of the chest panels:














The Overlord robot was never ever drawn in Masterforce with the chest panels closed, which is why you think the shoulders are "wide" and why the chest is blue. It's only when they show the mega jet from a low angle (which requires the chest panels to be closed on the toy) do you see the white chest:



When the chest panels are closed, the upper chest is most white, and the shoulders are no longer "wide"





In the last pic you can clearly see Overlord's actual shoulder is straight and column-like, whereas the closed chest panel door makes his chest appear white. Again, the robot mode was never animated with the chest panels closed, so that's why you think the shoulders are wide and that the chest is always blue. They're not!

 

That really looks good. Really hope the price goes down sonI can afford it.

Takara Star Saber is way too small looking at this. He should be at least the size of God Ginrai/Overlord.

This is all an eye opener to me.

 

You just proved my point. His robot mode was never animated with the chest white. All of your screen shots show that. Only in vehicle mode was there ever a white panel there. Making big white flaps that have to open and block shoulder articulation is stupid when it only makes the bottom, unseen part of 1 mode accurate. Why give him white chest panels that he never had in bot mode? Overlord's bot mode always had godmasters in the chest, so even without flaps, you could make a panel that pushes in when godmasters are inserted, that is blue. It would fill the holes and make bot mode correct. OR, the shoulders could have a spring panel that pulls up and rotates around to cover the ports in jet mode, but in bot mode makes the wide shoulder panel so both are accurate. Who would display their overlord with just an upside down jet anyway?

 

That would make a 50+ cm Victory Saber...I might be interested, but given that I already own MP24 + Simba and these new figures could very well be 200-300 dollars each, only if they make significant improvements to both of them.

 

I don't remember these other renders of PC-15, have been posted yet?
