Paramount, Knight and Hasbro basically shits on everything he has built for the last decade. What I mean is they removed the frozen Megatron scene, that would have made BB a part of his movies. So who knows? Maybe his relationship with Paramout and Hasbro is quite sour now.

Better don't because Michael Bay are tired in making robot battle scenes again, try look at TLK, there nothing bout the robot fighting anymore...so better pass to someone else etc like Guilermo Deltoro or James Wan.

Hasbro have a dedicated line to Bay's movies and are making MPM's so what are you on about?

    I mean, fair enough.

He's been on it for 5 movies, can't blame the guy for wanting to move onto other things. Remember when after each movie he'd say that THAT Movie was his last one, and then he'd go onto direct another? Good times.. good times.

We can't know for sure unless someone says something publicly and even then they could just be talking out their ass, but personally I don't see him taking this as some personal slight against him. It doesn't really matter to me if he does or not, the sooner his movies are replaced by better ones, the better.

I’m not sure how you added that up. Removing the Megatron scene could mean Bay’s relationship with Paramount is sour now? He’s already attached to produce multiple upcoming Paramount films.

Del toro is a much better choice than James Wan. Aquaman was literally plotless... Pacific Rim had a much better story and fighting scenes.

Why are you people so attached to being dettached from reality? Michael Bay is a grown adult man, and most importantly, one that didn't give a shit about the script or story of his OWN MOVIES.

Plus y'know the fact that Travis Knight himself said Michael Bay told Travis he would protect his vision and let him do what he wanted.

Michael Bay's hardly that offended or caring, I think. He wanted to do other things anyway and the franchise was a job for him, not something he was emotionally invested into.

This. If you know anything about movies or Bay as a director, you will know that he doesn't give a rat's ass about characters or plots. He lives for the visuals, and he is a master of those visuals. That's why in 5 movies there isn't one single sympathetic or even likable character (and this is also the case in most other Bay's films - even if someone starts off as nice, he nevertheless ends up being a jerk or a hardass), and each film has numerous continuity problems with its predecessor.

If Bay were offered an obscene amount of money for a new TF film, I'm sure he'd gleefully jump at it, ignoring both what Travis did and what his original 5 films did.

Michael Bay always hated transformers, he only did the rest of the movies for the money, he was never really interested in the story.

But this time he knows and Paramount also that it would be the worst mistake to bring him back.

First of all, Michael Bay was involved in Bumblebee; he's credited as a producer and his production company is one of the companies listed in making the film. Travis Knight also said that he met Bay multiple times and that he was very supportive of him; basically, he let Travis do what he wanted and openly said he admired Travis' vision for the film.

I think Bay only really does the "BOOM! EXPLOSIONS!!" films we all associate him with for the cash so he can do films like 13 Hours and Pain and Gain. From his statements, he wanted to move on after DOTM, but Paramount and Spielberg wouldn't let him.

And honestly, I'm glad he's not directing any more; The Last Knight was just exhausting to sit through. Bay's movies aren't bad per se, but existing alongside an MCU which shows that you can do action movies with a sense of nuance, they're tiring to watch (except the first).

Also, let's be real here, guys; you're not going to get Guillermo del Toro and I'm very glad of that. Why? I love the guy to death, I think he's a visionary, and would probably babble like an idiot from pure joy if I ever met him. But face it, his style does NOT fit Transformers. Guillermo's thing is grotesque; that’s what separates him as a director, everything is as gross-looking and freaky as possible. I don't see where any of that could fit in Transformers. Imagine Megatron with a tripartilite jaw, a chainsaw tongue, the ability to drain the sparks of other Transformers and the voice of Sergi Lopez. (On the other hand, we’d probably get Ron Perlman as Optimus Prime).

And besides, I doubt he would want to be involved; he's never said anything that indicates he's interested in the franchise at all. The only thing that could possibly motivate him is if there was a really, really good script (which, since del Toro tends to write his own material, I doubt will ever happen). The same applies to Peter Jackson; he was pretty much an unknown before he did Lord of the Rings and King Kong was a passion project for him.

Basically, we're not going to get Guillermo del Toro or Peter Jackson or Ridley Scott or James Cameron. Why? These directors have the money - and clout - to make the movies they want to make so those kinds of movies have no real interest for them. And that's nothing to do with quality; even the MCU doesn't get "big name" directors.

Personally, I'd have James Gunn or Taika Waititi helming a Transformers reboot. The reason why is the two know how to balance comedy and action (seriously, Thor: Ragnarok is one of the funniest films you'll ever see), their dialogue is meticulously character-specific and their plots have clear narrative propulsion based on logical conflict (A wants this because of X, B wants this because of Y, those goals conflict and so this happens, but then this happens, etc).

Although I'd be fine with anyone directing it so long as Lorenzo's sent packing.

Thor Ragnorok injected too much comedy. Added it with Korg saying "piss off ghost" while Thor and Loki had a moment about mourning their father. That was way too f-d up. Guardians 2 did it better with the blue guy's funeral. Can't think of his name right now.

Well he never wanted to be involved in a 'movie for kids' in the first place so I don't really care. Travis Knight on the other hand is clearly a person who knows at least something about Transformers.

    You mean Yondu?

And, yes, Thor: Ragnarok did go a little overboard with the comedy at times, but it always felt natural; it never felt like it was forced in because the execs wanted more humour. And, to be honest, superhero films don't have to be serious all the time.

Again, if Transformers ever got a hard reboot, I'd personally pick James Gunn or Taika Waititi to direct it. If neither of those two was available, I'd go with Phil Lord and Chris Miller; they specialise in taking dumb ideas and doing something great with them. Their biggest draw for me is their thematic consciousness; they are extremely aware of what they're saying with their movies and, despite the humour, the story has a real, emotional resonance.

he wanted to leave by the third movie but paramount assured him china would make him a huge profit, aoe was an unexpected hit in china so bay decided to do one more to see if tlk could do even better, regardless he knew he would be done even if it did well. he continued the franchise for 6 years more than he wanted even though he was tired of the franchise
