That's strange, I could've sworn earlier this day Box office mojo said it was 431 million but now it reverted back to 413,5 million?

On the down side next year isn't going to get them back to being on the box office big dogs list.

On the bright side without it being tent pole event films they aren't having to invest insane amounts into the production and advertising budgets for these films. Sort of a year off is also another year for people to forget about the recent movies from Paramount that people didn't like.

 

Big news!

Looks like Bumblebee's good performance in China resulted in an extension. It will now run until March 2nd. Reaching $500M worldwide just became more likely.

They need to clean their mind up from TLK as well

 

That will allow it to play through Chinese New Year, which will help. Not by a ton, but maybe enough to slip by $500m, or get very close.

 

I can see What Men Want doing well. Also Pet Sematary (Considering how well the horror genre is doing) and Rocketman (Bohemian Rhapsody has made $800M Worldwide) being big hits. It might be a surprising year for Paramount.

 

Bumblebee tops ¥1,000M on THU in China. It spend 21 days to reach billion level, which is quicker than TF3 (24 days), behind TF4 (5 days) & TF5 (5 days). Transformers become the first franchise which owns FOUR works of billion RMB box office.

Cash mountain? Not hardly. It will break even with a little bit of profit (depending on how much was actually spent on marketing + other costs), but it's far from a mountain of profit. It's about 12 million away from matching TLK's domestic take, but the numbers dropped quite a bit this week, so it'll be close. It would need 4m each week to match its total, so they might barely make it.

 

DOFP was a Schism-verse if anything. It started as a prequel until they changed history, splintered into a new timeline. It's basically the "Kelvin timeline" of the X-verse.

 

It's still a decent amount of money I think. The difference between movies like Warcraft and Rampage who both also had a ww box office of + 400 million dollars was that they did poorly domestically (both movies grossed less than a 100 million dollars). While Bumblebee managed to gross more than a 100 million

 

Actually to be fair to Rampage, WB updated the box office numbers for it last week and it did $101M domestically. You could look it up on Boxofficemojo right now.
