I recently watched ready player one for the first time and I was browsing their page when I came across a page about megatron ;

weirdly the page mentions pieces of history about him that I believe were never mentioned on official transformers media !

nonetheless I decided it was an interisting thing to share ...

Looks like fanfic. Anyone can put anything down in wikis. It's a video game movie with a ton of references, but I seriously doubt a nod to the 80's would play a huge part in a plot about a dude's nostalgic fantasy.

 

I don't think Ready Player One has anything to do with Hasbro's Transformers lore. Even if it were canon, it would likely only be canon within their video game simulator thing. Although from what I understand, Transformers aren't even present in the story.

That article has no sources on it. It looks like it was just some user who wrote that stuff on there (anyone can edit wikis). It sounds like stuff that might have been in the comics, they may have just gotten that info from TFWiki. Or maybe they just made it up.

 

That information is from the Prequel IDW Movie Comics.

 

Definitely not from Ready Player One. I believe the book only mentions the word “Transformers” once in passing. (kinda strange since it’s all about the 80s. Author must not have been a Transformers fan)

 

This was all trolling on behalf of people claiming to have seen these characters appear in the movie (before it was widely released)
