This design is substantially more faithful to the IDW character, which I'm partial to. IDW's influence seems to have been an afterthought in Warden's design, especially considering all the add-on pieces and gun/tank mode thing.

 

As long as they make him a Headmaster, too, I’d be game.

Yup I'd be all over this guy. Warden is great, but unless you have a g1 fort max, you don't get the full benefit of him.

This unit looks like he could really wreck shit. He's good at carnifex height, but I'd love him at leader class ish height to got toe to toe with TR Overlord.

That alt mode is sweet.

 

I have Warden and would definitely get this version. I would prefer him smaller that Carnifex, though.

 

The robot mode looks spot-on to IDW Fort Max, and I want this almost just for the altmode - that looks glorious. I would almost certainly buy it.

 

Carnifex height would make him an instant buy for me. And he's definitely better looking when compared to Warden.

Never bought PE warden but did buy PE guardian and the add on set.
Would pick this up in fortress Maximus, brave maximus, and cerebros colors in a heartbeat. Way better design then PE!
I hope Rick Shops this design around. MMC is the one losing out if they passed on this design.

 

Id be interested if MMC we're to reconsider they generally have reasonable prices and this thing looks like a good match for Carnifex. Though i'd rather a IDW Magnus first the CW one isn't cutting it for me.

Warden is tough to get now and very pricey. THere's a definite gap for the character in IDW collections.
Personally, my interest in IDW has waned, and I expect the new comic continuity will see more people feeling the same way. Fort Max was a character without a lot of appearances on the page, and if I recall, it's been a few years since he was seen. Given a new figure based on this would be at least another year or two from release, I'm not surprised MMC passed. Plus, it's MMC so they'd need to be able to repurpose this into at least 18 different characters for them to be interested...

FT have zero interest in anything outside of G1 MP. And I think they have their own designers on staff rather than outsourcing to contractors? (not 100% sure on that)
There are other companies dabbling in IDW - SXS, GT, GC... but this would be a tough sell for most of them.
If the interest for IDW designs continues, than MMC may circle back to this down the line.

Looks great. Alot of wonderful design work. But I'd combine the back treads, looks terrible IMO. Tank looks fun...

 

Max had a big part in the Titans Retun Ark. He also made a few appearances towards the end of Lost Light. He was a big part of an excellent issue with the scavengers as well.

 

This one actually has an alt mode so it wins by default.

 

This looks awesome to me. Warden is pretty spectacular as a display piece but as a toy he's kind of a nightmare, and since I don't have a G1 Fort Max I feel like I'm not getting the full value out of him. This looks like a significantly more fun to pose and transform and, when it comes to this character, bigger is better. If this were made I'd totally jump on it.

 

That looks super ill but I’d want articulated fingers on a fig this size. no reason not have them if he's gonna be as big as carnifex.
