Tried that, even with a tool pushing the face back with no luck. Must be one of those tolerance issues.

I am trying the floor wax trick on the helmet back hinge. But I may have to just live with it.

Helmet just sits a little high or the face too low.

You helped me rule out the possibility that I had missed something. Definitely still enjoying the figure.

Floor wax for the save. A couple of coats on the back hinge was all it took. Every TF collector should have a bottle.

    Great looking figure.

Nice! So it was a tight hinge huh?
I used synthetic grease on my MP Dinobot on the shoulder hinge cuz it was a bit tight.
F567478B-57C9-44E4-BEF2-9C4E30030848.jpeg I highly recommend this stuff too to grease up ratchets. I might use it on Rodimus’ feet and knees

It was actually the opposite. Floor wax adds friction. Keeps helmet from popping up.

Look for the Hasbro Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. (Mine's sitting in storage right now, replaced by MP-28 on my shelf. Might sell for the right price.)

Anybody order this from BBTS? Still showing as preorder status and TFS/TCP got their's in eons ago. I wasn't worried about it drying up so soon but TCP only shows damaged package stock available and I'd rather not buy from TFS.

I did. Still waiting on it... It took them about 2 months longer to get Prowl+ in-stock compared to most other sites, so I figured I'd give it to the end of February before I start pestering them about it. Although I'd be much happier to see it in my POL any day now.

Ouch, and I thought I waited a long time!
Do you really want a pristine box? Email Them and ask them just how damaged the box is. They have 2 day shipping, if you order today, you'll get it by Tuesday/Wednesday.
Have you ordered from TCP before? They are great! Awesome response time, rewards, free shipping on purchases $150+, I highly recommend them.

Oh yeah, I've done plenty of business with them.
I've been holding out for a price drop since I really don't want to pay the full asking price. Was surprised to see they only had damaged box stock left so I checked the other sites and TFS still had it listed as in-stock and BBTS still on preorder status.

Thanks. I can't believe how far behind the other sites they can be to get stock in sometimes. It's listed as arriving this month, so hopefully any day now. I was just curious if they had gotten partial shipment in or none at all, so sounds like nothing yet.

I keep going back and forth on this one. I don't really need it; not a RP fan and already have MP Hot Rod. But it's more like a piece I feel I should have for collection purposes to have all the G1 MP cartoon molds. But that $230 asking price is really steep.

If you want a MP Rodimus in your collection I would suggest waiting for the inevitable MP Rodimus V3. Why? Because a V3 Rodimus will probably match the current MP direction of cartoon aesthetic better than MP-9. However, if you don't care for cartoon accuracy than waiting it out might be a good strategy as many collectors tend to sell off their MP once a newer mold or repaint of character is released. As well, online stores tend to reduce the price of a MP, if they still have the item in stock, once a newer mold/repaint of a character is released. For example, BBTS currently sells MP-29+ Shockwave for $209.99. Whereas, the original purple release of MP-29 dropped in priced to $99.99.

The caveats to my suggestion would be what the price of a V3 Rodimus will be. If you think $230 is steep, a V3 Rodimus might cost anywhere from $320 to $450, if the cost of MP-44 Optimus is any indication. In addition to, how patient of a person you are for official releases? The earliest I can see Takara releasing a MP Galvatron would be 2020, followed by a V3 Rodimus in 2021 - 2022. That's a pretty long wait. On the other hand, if you are like me and are an official MP collector than the wait isn't that bad because I tend to display my characters according to seasons. Besides Magnus and Hot Rod, Takara has been sparse with season 3 characters and don't seem as committed to completing the cast introduced in the movie as the season 1 cast.

That' my two cents. Sorry for going off on a bit of a tangent.

I'm also fairly sure I put in my preorder on the first day they were available, so, yeah, they've likely got in few to none so far.

As for your feelings on this MP, I'm right there with you. I mean everything you said there about it, I've thought and/or said myself at some point! But it's the only MP from MP-8 on that I kinda care about that I'm still missing, and, crappy as it is, $230 beats the eBay prices of the last few years...

V3? Don't you mean V2? Or do you count MP-28 as Rodimus 2.0? Personally, I consider Rodimus Prime & Hot Rod as technically two different characters, so I don't think of MP-28 as a 2.0 in terms of Rodimus Prime. If they do another Rodimus Prime, I really hope they skip the 2-in-1 feature of MP-9. Like, really, for reals.

The first release of MP-09 had a date stamp on the box of A0911, which in English translates to January 9, 2011. However, because of the many problems customers had with the first release, TT released a second version that attempted to "fix" some of the issues. The second release of MP-09 was referred to as version 2 and had a date stamp of H2511 (August 25, 2011).

Although, I do see your point. If you going by unique character molds, a new Rodimus mold would be V2. However, to avoid confusion with the "fixed" version I like to refer to a new mold of Rodimus as V3.

The differences between MP-09 V1 and V2 are listed at: Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy Ver 2 Changes - Transformers Discussion - The Allspark Forums

Well, you shouldn't have to sand the trailer in order to use a functionality as intended without damaging the product.

I very much agree, but it's a well known design issue (stemming from the fact that the slot is wide enough to fit an unpainted spoiler, but not a painted one) for an otherwise fairly flawed mold with many potential QC issues.

@XXLMagnus - Just take a thin file or sandpaper and file the slot away. When you try to insert the spoiler there should be no resistance whatsoever, that's how you'll now you've filed it enough. If you encounter resistance and try to push the spoiler in anyway, paint will scratch. Here's the old thread with fixes: MP-09 Rodimus Convoy Fixes

Yeah I figured, thx, just criminally paranoid abt a ‘loose hole’ situation ... and that’s never a good thing in my experience ... :)

    :lol

Anyway, the positive here is that the trailer slot is not used for anything else and the fit doesn't need to be particularly snug for the alt mode to hold together.
