Since we’re going there, they should definitely take the opportunity to finish what they started with the 84-85 “Autobot cars” combiners. All that’s missing is Grapple (torso from Inferno), Sideswipe, Red Alert, Hoist (from Trailbreaker), Tracks, Bluestreak (silver), and Skids. Then toss in Ratchet for those that didn’t go the UW or Botcon route.

While it may have changed, Hasbro has been on record numerous times over the years as having no interest in offering toys via a subscription-type method. That seemed to have changed when they cancelled Fun Pubs contract and they announced they would do a Fan Club, but the release of Arcee/Grotusque having been referred to as FanClub1 and FanClub2 also seems to show they've abandoned that idea - coupled with no sign of a fan club whatsoever.
Frankly, all of the outside contract cancellations of TFs and GI Joe clubs smacks of some marketing weenie trying to expand his own little fiefdom by bringing ALL marketing (including fan/collector clubs) in-house, and once Hasbro saw what was truly involved they balked.
I think the online exclusive program is the most we're going to see come out of this.

That was my take on it too.

I really go back and forth on a fan club special order program. Hasbro tried it with BW Neo back in the late 1990s and I guess it didn't go well. What did they really expect out of online sales 20 years ago though? Everything after has been half-hearted...they put zero effort into HTS and I take it alot of folks weren't impressed with what HasCon had to offer. On the other hand...people have some wild expectations for a fan club that I don't think they have any intention of following through on when the bill comes due. Why would Hasbro go all out on something really great if all they're going to hear is complaints about how it should cost $7.99 with free shipping?

Honestly the more I think about Subscription Services and fanclubs, the more I side with the idea that it's all simply unnecessary. I mean I believe it was years ago when the TFCC was really in full swing, but now that Hasbro is pumping out more product at retail plus online exclusives like these or the ones at Walgreens, I'm just not sure there'd be enough demand nowadays to do a whole set of subscription figures.

Ditto on subscription service being unnecessary. IMHO I 'd rather have multiple exclusives over the year that I can decide to buy/ not buy on a case by case basis instead of being locked into a year subscription of X toys where there's only 1-2 of them I actually want...

I'm thinking about ordering a second Ricochet for a quick low effort Jallguar, was this already suggested?

Eeeek... Have we not learned our lesson about G2 color choices? If you touch them, they'll infect everything and make the figures unsellable. I hope we don't get Meg and UM repaints. (Fair enough, if you guys want them, okay, we should get them. I'm skipping them for sure.)
