I will say, his transformation is not bad at all. I didn't look at the instructions and only watched BSF review then transformed him a few hours later and that was enough to get through it fairly easy.

You can probably lay a gloss coat of some kind on him. I am tempted to even as a way to protect the figure.

    Edit:

I am personally thinking about laying some floor polish on this guy. I've done it on some painted figs with good results. See here for info: LINK

They say the camera adds 20 pounds. Now that I have him in hand he looks way better proportioned than on the pictures.
It looks real good in person .

    I feel your pain bud...

So for those that have him, how well does the torso attach to the waist with that one piece holding it together? Does it hold together tight, or is it a loose connection? In other words, if you lift him by his torso, does his waist flop down?

Has everyone been having delay through customs? My package is also 8 days stuck in NYC too - wondering if it is related to partial government shut down or just random delay.

Feels very solid. You should have no worries about it.

For my copy anyway, that hinge is pretty stiff. He doesn't bend over without me doing it and he doesn't flop down if I grab him by the top. I hope that's pretty normal and not something that varies.

Pics aren't great as my phone isn't the best, but I really like this figure in hand. The finish is different, but actually looks a lot like a matte paint as opposed to unpainted plastic which is ok by me. Photographs a bit weird due to the matte finish though- Colors look good to the eye, lol. IMG_20190115_191231741.jpg IMG_20190115_191222209.jpg IMG_20190115_191356023_HDR.jpg

If shiny plastic is the goal, that could work. To me, shiny plastic just looks like old, early materials compounds that weren't as good. While it can be done well or poorly, paint is still a different look than that.

The lack of paint/ finish is what is keeping me from purchasing him. I am concerned that he will look out of place with my Masterpiece figures.

On a small bot, such as Grump, it is not an overly noticeable issue, but on such a large piece, I am worried.

He does have a "finish" though. Matte plastic which to ME looks almost like a matte paint as it's done on this guy.

They need to release an “X” version or painted limited edition, still would buy this at some point, regardless of the lack of paint.

That would be my guess. So everyone can blame the President or the Congress, depending on what your particular political biasas may be.

Let's not go down that political rabbit hole on these threads, and keep who we blame to ourselves.

How does he look standing next to bots, such as MP12 (Lambor) or MP27 (Ironhide) with their cherry red paint and finish?

Honestly it's not bothering me... but he doesn't have the same shiny finish as the others.

Awesome, thanks Sportimus. Bit disspointed in the flat plastic red. It's a truck, should be painted gloss red. Big red shiny truck!
