Yes it was Feige who said that, wanting to focus on new villains over already used ones, then again Mysterio would be the primary villain while Sandman would likely be a secondary one here, rather than a major character
Noticed a difference between the US and International trailer. In the US version, Flash calls Peter a Dickwad. In the international one, he calls him a loser.
Yeah I noticed that too, but it looked like the international trailer just had it dubbed over. His lips still read as saying "dick wad"
I did find the opening of the international trailer really funny, and also pretty adorable (awww May!!).
So, is Mysterio using his original comic book powers, or is this like a ultimate version, or brand new? Does he have magic? Or just chemicals...?
Will there be a problem if "Dickwad" used in the international? I could try to throw another theory: It happened before the snapped Yeah, the "LEVEL OF NORMALCY" is surprising. So I could buy either of the two theories, regardless if Time Travelling is involved or not: 1. Reversed the Snap 2. Averted the Snap Regarding MCU Mysterio's powers, I'm curious how will they present it. Maybe it's possible that it'll be based on stolen alien/stark tech Or I'll be surprised if Mysterio created his own tech. Character-wise, they'll make him as usual good guy first turned bad for revenge.
My prediction is that this is him using his special FX training. No "powers"... definitely no magic. All illusion and technology.
I'm thinking that maybe the snap isn't 100% wiped away, more like everyone disappears only to immediately return. Sort of like the stop-start nature of Ego's attack. It was scary but obviously the crisis was averted. Because that obviousness is really necessary to keep the flow of the universe going, especially if Tony or Steve die in the process of saving the world. If everyone loses their memory of the crisis* as the original comic resolved the issue, then no one will know that Cap (or Tony, but let's be real) gave his life to save their own. So Cap dies a criminal and the Sokovia Accords plot just kind of stagnates with most of its major players off the table. On the other hand, if people know that Cap sacrificed himself, suddenly that puts a chink in Ross's armor and opens the door to interesting Thunderbolts/ Dark Avengers/ Heroes Reborn type stories. Basically, if the MCU is to continue growing with these new Phase 3 characters like Spider-Man and Captain Marvel, the people of Earth need to realize how fucked they would have been if not for unsanctioned superheroes. *Also, in either case the public probably will never know that Thanos was involved in this particular caper. Not only would one of the Avengers need to specifically brief a press corps on the ins and outs of the Infinity Stones, but narratively it makes a lot of sense for Thanos to not only lose but for no one to know his name. It will destroy a narcissist like him.
TBH I think there has to be some sort of powers going on. If a man in New York can build a giant bird costume out of Chitari tech, just imagine what somebody smarter could do?
Oh I agree... but I think that falls in line with the technology part of my previous post. Still no “powers” or anything. But just my assumption, of course.
Comics Mysterio is all bark and no bite, so if they're being faithful to him in the film, then I'm assuming it'll be some applications of holograms and maybe some localized forcefields of some sort. Handy tools to have, and still threatening when used creatively (especially if used in the hands of a "magician", with an aptitude for misdirection), but nowhere near as wide-ranging and powerful as he presents himself to be.
He could have some real magic this time...But knowing Mysterio, yeah, it's all high-tech holograms and gadgets.
following the naming convention of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, I hope the third one is Spider-Man: Home Alone and it’s just Peter on his own trying to protect the Avengers compound from the Sinister Six with complex, web-based traps.
Given the difference between the two I'm guessing that the scene will be cut from the movie. Not that its a big deal, but just seems like one of those throw away lines that they like to include for the previews.
Anyone think Tom Sellick would make a good J Jonah Jameson? Dude's got the hair, eyebrows, eye color, nose shape, jawline, ears, clothes. Just needs to grey his hair up and flat top it.
