Just bought a ToyBiz Mouth of Sauron horse to use with Mythic Legions. Hopefully it isn't too small. We'll see.
Some of my friends use the LOTR horses...I won’t say they are too small but more on the “thin” side...they do fit the dwarfs and goblins rather well.
Just bought the pig guy. I guess he's not that popular considering how cheap I got him but I think he looks cool. A lot of 1.0 parts reuse but the head and paint look great. Who doesn't need a pig guy in their collection.
Pig Guy was one of the first ones I picked up when their in stock sale opened up last week. Now I'm wishing I'd gone for Snagg instead now that I've seen the newest goblin in the pre-order. Don’t get me wrong though. Pig Guy will be awesome.
So, been thinking about getting into this line. What's the best figure to start with to give me a good overall impression (besides the MOTU homages that go for big bucks on eBay) of the line. They look fantastic, but I need a little convincing and maybe some recommendations about starting in on this with everything else I collect.
I just started on this line too! The figures look really good but the articulation can be pretty limited. A main issue is that the prices are pretty steep on the secondary market. Oh yeah, paint apps is hit-and-miss too... One observation I made is that the “human” heads look a tad oversized - especially the first wave. Personally it’s hard to make a recommendation because I’m impressed by the limited figures I have. My first one was the silver knight (legion builder). He’s missing alot of paint apps but he meets my criteria of a traditional knight. Rahmulas (?) is one of my faves but the secondary market prices is pricey.
Best bet is to start with a male or skeleton figure to try the line out. The female and goblin molds are cool, but aren’t as solid as the other two yet. Wait ‘til they have the next pre-order, Kickstarter, or in stock sale rather than pay eBay prices. BBTS’ prices are okayish.
In a few weeks there will be a large release of older and recent sellouts for their original prices or very close to those. Before that time, if you like I can give you a detailed breakdown of which ones you should get in what order. Just PM me.
I'd been on the fence about this line but took the dive on Brother Mandibulus & now I have 5 more. For a small operation the horsemen really do great, the sculpts & paint apps have all been super solid on mine. Also the customizable factor is a tremendous draw for me as most of the parts are interchangeable.
Dwarves are the best part of Mythic Legions. Halmyr Goldentooth is my favorite figure from the line. Can't go wrong with any dwarf.
He's expensive right now as he hasn't had a reissue yet, but Tibius and Otho are the two that sold me on the line, followed by Thord Ironjaw. In the new 2.0 wave, Malachi Cinderhorn was the one that surprised me the most. Gwen Heavensbrand, the Goblin on the Dwarf body. I forget his name.
Any news on the release of that wave that includes Eagalus 2.0? My bad for sounding like a broken record I just want to know if anybody got a notice from the Four Horsemen that the wave is released is all.
An email just came out last Thursday asking for people to update their addresses if they ordered anything from All-Stars 2.0 and Advent of Decay. They’re expecting to get those two waves into their warehouse in the next week or so.
Can someone post their current e-mail address please? I just wanna make sure I sent it to the right address.
