Yes Seth McFarlane lol, I can't wait for him to voice a Transformer and make pop culture "jokes" for 90 percent of the movie....

Denis Villenuve would be my pick outside of Travis Knight to direct, (Bladerunner 2049/Arrival) I feel like he would be perfect for a Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime movie. At the end of the day it really comes down to story so fingers crossed for decent writers in future Transformers films

I don\'t care what it takes, get Knight involved in more of the franchise\'s future installments. After the possitive reception and -- pardon the pun -- \"buzz\" that Bumblebee has gotten for the new direction and designs I\'d be surprised if they did anything but focus all their attention on moving in a new direction... except there\'s still the matter of Lorenzo. Hopefully they get rid of him soon or at least relegate him to the sidelines so he doesn\'t influence any future projects with his terrible ideas and shortsightedness. I want them to make a clean break with a full reboot but I\'m afraid there are too many like Lorenzo running things behind the scense for that to be a realistic possibility. Instead we\'re probably going to get more wishy-washy preboots that kinda sorta fit into the bayverse if you squint really hard and ignore all the plot holes.

Hopefully they stick with an Optimus Prime solo movie and an animated Cybertron movie. I don\'t need another Bumblebee standalone movie nor do I think it\'s warranted  or makes any sense considering how things ended. Let some other bots get the limelight and then get the gang back together for an amazing 80s ensemble movie featuring all of the bots we saw in the Cybertron scense and then some. Especially more Wheeljack and Soundwave please!

Ahh yes, the good old "they should get *insert director name that the poster either JUST found out about because of one good movie they liked or is too stupid to realize would never touch the TF franchise with a ten foot pole to begin with* to direct the next one!" posts showing up again. Always fun(ny) to see which flavor-of-the-month names show up and drop off whenever these threads happen.

Well that's not how things even work with these guys anyway, so... there's that.

Anyway, it's nice to see Knight being level headed with how he is and is not just diving into all of this.

Id say, let Steven Spielberg give it a shot.. whats the worse could happen.. I thought Knight did an amicable job.. Animation-wise, BumbleBee had everything I wanted to see in a TF movie.. but the story was kinda soulless, and he really didnt have the power to go nuts with it... Kubo wasnt great.

Denis Villenuve... good choice. A director with excellent world building skills and a solid eye. I’m not the biggest fan of 2049, but I can see past my personal taste and why people love it. It really is a beautiful film. Unfortunately, I can see most other TF fans hating the idea of a Villenuve movie.

I’ve always thought George Miller would be an interesting choice too, myself.

Literally nobody beyond a niche group of people on the internet want to stay in continuity.

Oh, and that fat fuck Lorenzo, who is going to crash this franchise with no survivors because he doesn't fucking know how to keep his grimy hands off something that works despite him thinking it shouldn't.

You seem to think this is actually a bad thing. It is actually the best possible outcome, because one of the weaknesses of the bayverse is that it never was meant to go past one, let alone three, films. Everything is a retcon because they never planned ahead past one film until it was too late, and that one film is utter shit anyway so nothing of value was lost.

More G1 then, because even though you're probably lying (claim to be a producer, have yet to produce a shred of evidence actually proving it and SilverOptimus confirmed nobody actually involved in the films knows who you are and SO is more trustworthy than you)? Wow, what a safe guess!

At least Travis love the franchise since his childhood. And in the movie, it shows.
Michael Bay on other hand, don\'t know anything TF yet he was appointed by Steven Spielberg a decade ago, \"He\'s the ONLY guy who can do it!\".

Good to know Travis have Laika. And TFs are out of the yeard of his animation studio.

Several non-TF people I know who saw Bumblebee commented they want a movie “like the first 10 minutes” of Bumblebee, eg CGI animation on far away planets. Such a movie would probably be more of an animation director, though Knight has similar skills from stop-motion animation...

I feel Travis Knight would be amazing at making a full movie like that, but maybe Paramount can find another person who would do an amazing job too. Just.. not Bay. Please not Bay. Oh lord, imagine though if some of the crew responsible for Guardians of the Galaxy got on board? O.O Colors EVERYWHERE!

Maybe I'm being too diplomatic, but I just read this as "hey, I don't want my studio to become a solely TF-making factory". In my mind, it leaves future movies open, but he just doesn't want to be stuck on one franchise/genre/etc. And frankly, I think that's good. I bet we could have had a lot more freshness in the previous films if there had been more time between Bay's team's films and he had gotten to do other projects while someone else covered TF for a while. While I really enjoyed Bumblebee, I wouldn't want to be seeing Bumblebee 4 in a few years and be left thinking, "oh, it's this same Knight-formula movie rehashed all over again for the fourth time." Variety is a good thing, imo.

I don't want a Bumblebee 2 either, at least not too soon. Marvel had other movies mixed in between the Iron Man and Thor movies, and Captain America which I felt overall had the best series. And those were all different in themeing. If we do get another Bumblebee movie, I wanna see something totally new, ya know? Hell, the Transformers could meet other alien races in future installments to expand its universe.

I'd rather see Tf's as Laika's business instead of Lorenzo's

Except that's missing the point Travis is making. He's unsure if he'll ever be back, he WANTS TO, but not in the way that it compromises Laika's principles of making unique and fun stop-motion movies without being tied down by corporate greed, which Hollywood knows a few things about greed. We can't force it on Laika because Travis made ONE good Transformers movie, but we can sure as hell convince Lorenzo, Spielburg, and Bay to have more directors like Travis Knight make more TF movies like Bumblebee.
