Is he a great value at $49.99 US? No. Is he pretty much the best looking Shockwave since G1? Yes. Is he a space submarine? NO! He’s a laser gun!

Putting his extra armor bits in storage and just going to enjoy this guy as a fantastic update to the original.

I think the best part of the light piping (other than the piping itself) is when you transform him to space cruiser mode. When you push his head into his chest, the entry point of the piping becomes blocked, making his eye dim out to look like his head is “deactivated”. Then when his periscope is flipped out from his legs to form part of the cruiser, the piping in that is of course now unblocked, making the periscope look like it’s now “activated”. It’s the little stuff like that that makes for an all out fun transformation :)

If it were this for $50 or a G1 reissue for $50, I'd take this in a heartbeat. I love this guy.

I DO have a little trouble getting the front of the space cruiser mode piece to clip into the sides, but that's it. I just got Magnus, too, and honestly, I can't figure out which I like better. This is a GREAT Shockwave figure.

I had the same issue the first time. Make sure the base barrel piece is closed fully around the arms and that they are pressed together tightly at the shoulders. The new piece clips over the end somewhat snugly, then put one side piece in then the other.

My local Walmart got the entire Siege wave 1 in. I checked them all out and walked out with none of them.

I put the Shockwave and Cog packages next to each other and Shockwave might be 5mm taller than cog.

He's barely a Voyager. The figure does look like it is good quality but $50 is an absolute ripoff. You can buy a fully assembled bicycle for $50. Don't tell me Shockwave cost more to manufacture than the bike.

The ship nose/cannon extension fits perfectly over Megs' fusion cannon, with the little turrets sitting flush behind the block on top. It's almost like they were meant to fit.

It should have been in the instructions but it's a nice fan power up mode

5mm taller than cog...? Don't tell me you're comparing the highest tip of Cog's shoulder barrel to Shockwave's base robot mode head, cause that is such a ridiculously unjust comparison.

Optibotimus went in on the price hike of this figure. Just like I was saying a couple months ago..... He should've been a Voyager! But I won't complain too much since $25 is all I ended up paying for him at retail. But if Hasbro keeps playing these games then they can keep those overpriced figures until clearance and Ollie's takes over.

I happen to think that he is well worth the leader class price. Here he is with the rest of my G1 Shockwaves (I need to get another original someday): 38BA7E35-C931-481F-854B-A03DBD33EC0A.jpeg

I wonder if the price hike is designed to account for the fact we all want discounts. Like Banana Republic selling dress shirts at $80 but then making 40% off super common.

Went back to the store today after getting Magnus yesterday and picked this guy up.

I really like him. Super solid. The light piping is great. Sculpt is great. Love the macros style ship mode and, hell, I dig the silly “submarine” mode as well.

I didn’t like the four armed mode in pics, but I surprisingly enjoy it in hand.

Price is what it is, I don’t think I have normal objectivity since I also buy 3rd party stuff. I enjoy him so that’s that, I suppose.

    Nitpicks:
I don’t like the color of his hands. Wish they were grey like his thighs, instead they are this weird pink color which doesn’t really match.

And the hose, I really wish both sides had 5 mm pegs. Right now, it’s placement looks a little awkward in some modes.

This looks so much like how Megatron combined with Tidal Wave in Armada. And since in the original Japanese dub Tidal Wave was known as Shockwave... it's appropriate!

I was always excited for "Weaponizer" Shockwave, but this is just pure delicious icing on the cake.

I could buy a good amount of food for $50, therefore the bike is a ripoff because it's less immediately useful and valuable.

Apples to oranges and all that.

I think Shockwave might be my favorite Seige figure of Wave 1.

    20190110_100609.jpg

The basic robot mode is kind of a small and skinny Voyager, but Shockwave is usually a (mad) scientist, not necessarily a frontline fighter.

    20190110_100853.jpg

That certainly doesn't mean that he can't handle himself in a fight. The additional parts can bulk him up considerably, though not, IMO, to actual Leader-size proportions. He gains two more gun arms!

    20190111_032354.jpg

The extra parts can also be put together as a flying drone/ air skiff for Shockwave to ride on.

    20190112_165331.jpg

Nominally, his alt mode is a Cybertronian starship. It looks like the "ninja rocketship" of so many 80's anime. That's not a bad thing at all.

    20190112_161718.jpg

The Seige figure is a definite improvement over previous Generations Shockwaves.

    20190112_235608.jpg

I honestly think that they added all of the extra parts that bump him up to Leader class in order to disguise the fact that he can still assume his Astro Magnum space gun mode.

    20190112_162216.jpg

Yeah, I left the front part of the spaceship on here. Makes for a bigger, more frightening gun barrel.

    20190112_165438.jpg

So, yeah, Seige Shockwace is a recommended buy, in spite of the fact that he seems undersized. I think that he was still worth the US$50.

I love this amine-esque starship alt mode. It's as "eighties" as is the G1 robot mode.

I found one over the weekend and he was worth every penny to me. I continue to be impressed with the increase in overall quality Siege toys and Shockwave astounded me at how stiff all the joints were and how solid he felt overall. He's a joy to look at from every angle with all of the exceptional detail and the sled is pretty cool. He's the Shockwave I always wanted and I'm so happy I never plunked down the money for an MP. Love him!
