I'm sure someone will come up with a fan mode to turn her into a chest minion, or some such, and add her to Orthia.

I am crossing fingers that a new Elita-one is made, even if it's the same mold with better detailing. Because those stickers man? Gross. It would end up being really funny if such a hypothetical Elita update has a chest or back port for Chromia somehow for Orthia.

I will really have to see them in hand for that. If the vehicle turns out to be the exact same dimensions " which nobody has compared yet" I beg to differ. The flaps of the backpack are seemingly in the same position. Even using the same design feature. While it does appear she stands shorter this might be mostly due to her leg assembly. The Moonracer mold has a extra part that allows for her legs to fold all the way back. " Thus my suspicion is her knee part makes her taller" Also this I have to see in hand.
By no means do I mean to belittle anyone, designing is something I love. And just taking a close up look at it. Also if you agree on Hun-Gurr/Silverbolt I beg to ask if that is for the robot modes or for the alt modes. Which are not the same at all. Same could be said for Chromia and Moonracer, where the robot modes seemingly are different hight while the alt modes and most of the transformation are cross over. With the back of the car being most of the same thing. With minor changes to the design to make it look a bit different.
And I really like this. I like the mold series. Same as with the Silverbolt mold family. I looked at hun-Gurr compared to Silverbolt a lot and really like it. Both Superion and Abominus are always prominently on display. Winning designing in my eyes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they redid Chromia and made a Elita-One from it. From what I can tell Has/Tak rarely uses a mold only once. With Optimus Prime they can afford to use it once even Megatron since they sell well. For deluxes they usually do it 2/3 times. As far as I can tell PotP has been the most widely variety of parts. With the dinos and monsters having relatively unique parts.
Titans Return and CW had higher part reuse. With Deadend and Breakdown as well as the jets have multiple reuses. A entire army of helicopters. So I think they will reuse more parts now for Siege.

Still pissed/mind-boggled by the decision to take the combiner peg out...
Like, ok, you added tail guns?? but if you're taking out the only reason for
reusing this mold, then why not go crazy and completely change the back half of the car.
They could have easily put in a number of other cool details/gimmicks in that space
    Detachable blasters, swords, jet pack...

Wow I can't believe this was the Moonracer mold i disliked so much. The retooling overhaul is very nice. Seeing her next to Generations Arcee I actually think she compliments her design better than thrilling 30's. I'll definitely be getting her and most likely display her with my Autobot Heroes Arcee, TR Windblade and PotP Elita-1.

Pass. She isn't nearly different enough from Moonracer to warrant a pickup for me without combiner ports. I'll be satisfied with the Generations Chromia.

Wish he had done an actual comparison with Chromia and either Moonracer or Firestar. Thankfully, I have WFC Optimus with me so I decided to do a size comparison. Chromia isn't only different in remolding but she's also different size wise. She's noticeably shorter than Moonracer. This makes her even more worth the purchase for me :D

As 8bitboys post shows, chromia is overall smaller than moonracer. If she’s smaller then those “shared parts” you cited have to be smaller as well, meaning they aren’t actually shared parts as they wouldn’t be interchangeable

Possibly. But it looks to me like Chromia is only shorter because she doesn't have the extra joint in the knee, and the thighs are the same size/thickness.

That’s a possibility, but its up in the air until it’s actually readily available to scrutinize.

Thanks man, come Monday my 84-86 minibots will be complete thanks to the maketoys gears/swerve 2 pack! Can’t wait to add more siege figures to the shelves as well, I feel like they mix in just fine with older chug figures

It's such a "remold" that it shares absolutely zero parts with Moonracer save for (maybe) thighs.

Especially with those arm joints made with hinges and metal pins whilst Moonracer is ball joints.

It's just a transformation scheme copied sans the compromising combiner peg.

I wish the entire Elita's Gang was not made as combiner limbs.

But then, luckily I never cared of any of them but Elita and Chromia so this figure alone will do just fine. Now waiting for an actual G1 Elita.

Mechfanstoys made the huffer and pipes, they’re pretty sweet legends class figures but also pretty simple, but there’s no need for them to be complicated

Ill take her legs side by side and measure when I have her. Seems they share at least 1 sprew. With the softer plastic parts.

I wonder how tight the hinges that hold those rear fender/wheel assemblies in place are? If they're solid enough, I think I'll leave her backback untransformed, with the clear canopy behind her like a long coat. I like the remolds that have been done here-- the proportions seem much more cohesive.

Chromia looks fantastic! And hooraaaaay; she has a nose again!!! Lol! This will be my definitive Chromia at this scale. The detailing looks great, and the figure looks nicely posable and with cool weapons! Can't wait to get her! And thank Primus they didn't give her the same Clodhopper feet as Moonracer! :D
