There is nothing wrong with explosions, I just want them to be filmed by something other than shaky cam. I'd keep the movie set in the 80's. Optimus is a truck, Megatron's a gun mind-controlling some senator/scientist type for most of the beginning of the movie. I'd use the faction symbol scene-change thing the old cartoons used constantly.
My silly idea for a plot:

Act 1: Open on a chase scene, with 80's metal blaring from distant speakers. They'd have to get all the retro sports cars licenses so we could throw in Sideswipe and Sunstreaker as Countaches on a car chase with Barricade as a Plymouth Gran Fury squishing passers-by while the Stunticons go Fury Road on Optimus (Dead End climes on his trailer in bot mode only to have the trailer open, swallow him and spit him back on the road all banged-up).
Human characters are inside Bumblebee as audience surrogates, they’re the family of the Senator abducted by Megatron, who’s using his government position to allow him to use the dam in the dalles as a source of Energon. Of course Jazz is the source of the 80's metal soundtrack beside them with his massive new boombox he claims to have found at a yard sale--I'd keep the music going like Heavy Metal and the original Transformers movie. And what are the Autobots chasing? The stolen matrix/macguffin. The Autobots catch up to the Stunticons just in time to see a beaten Motormaster hand it off off to Megatron, who transforms back into gun mode and jumps back into the senator's hands then flies off inside Starscream in jet mode.

Act 2: Megatron's Constructicons build away on Trypticon, Autobots dispatch the Stunticons and retrieve the matrix/kill Barricade then take human characters to their secret base in Rocky Butte Mountain outside Portland area. Decepticons raid the dam for Energon so the Constructicons can finish Trypticon, Megatron uses the Matrix/Allspark/Macguffin to bring the completed Trypticon to life, who rambles aimlessly towards Portland as Megatron cries for him to listen. Optimus shows up and tackles the distracted Megatron with the rest of the Autobots, retrieving the matrix and placing it back in his chest. The humans reunite with Senator and bring him back to normal. Just as Optimus was about to strike the killing blow, Starscream and the seekers shoot him off Megatron and swoop their leader away to land him on Trypticon's back.

Act 3: The Autobots rush an injured Optimus back to the base, he says the only way to save him is to use the matrix/macguffin to power the base and place him in the pilot's seat. Back to normal, the Senator and his family go back to Portland inside Bumblebee to warn them so they can begin an evacuation. The Autobots listen and Metroplex wakes up, with Optimus piloting him mecha-style. The Autobots think they're safe inside Metroplex but the boombox Jazz rescued turns out to be Soundwave. Soundwave ejects his cassettes and a fight inside ensues. Optimus pilots Metroplex carefully towards Trypticon and jumps on his back just in time to keep him from destroying the city but Trypticon transforms into space ship mode and flies the pair up into the atmosphere, crash-landing in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Insert long forest-destroying fight, more 80's rock/metal, and end with Metroplex/Optimus ripping Trypticon's jaws in half and shoving his massive city arm down his throat to reabsorb the stolen matrix energy. Just as Optimus/Metroplex is about to squish Megatron, the seekers show up and have at him King Kong style, just as the Constructicons sneak up and form Devastator behind the distracted Autobot base. Devastator sucker punches Metroplex, rescues Megatron, then turns back into his component bots and disappears into the wilderness as the Decepticons retreat. The victorious Autobots help fix the city, with a damaged Metroplex stuck in city mode providing comfortable-if-cold housing for the needy. Insert more 80's metal, roll credits.

Yeah, I think that the productions processes are the best thing out of a TF movie since The movie can go either way and lasts only 2h. But the plot guessing, tracking new things everyday, leaked photos and so on are entertaining throughout months. It was a pity that Bumblebee was filmed more or less behind closed doors.

I hope that when we get a BW movie it will be more accessible than Bumblebee :)

Excellent. I really want an Optimus film set on Cybertron and then a general purpose autobots film on earth. With robot personalities and Travis Knight styles to spare.

Glad it\'s Profitable, But I really want those Travis Knight Designs in Studio Series. That Optimus Prime is a must buy for me, but I really want Bumbulbee\'s Cybertron mode(Cliffjumper repaint with new Head), Blitzwing(Starscream repaint with new Head), Conehead Seekers, Arcee, Wheeljack.

Haven\'t been this excited for movie Transformers in aa long time. Can't wait to buy the Bluray and watch those badass fights scenes over again. Pretty sure Transformers in this reboot got a Kung Fu firmware update.

Well, considering Transformers is literally their last hope, maybe a Beast Wars movie isn't that far-fetched. :D

They tried to skirt the line between prequel and reboot and didn't have the guts to do either. Added to this that the director is widely inconsistent with what he says and even filmed a scene with Megatron that cost money and had to be removed. The writer is also a problem and has ultimately shown her true colours going into this DC Birds Of Prey movie which is a real shame as I had looked forward to that until she started to spout nonsense along with the director of that movie.

This is a spin by the producers in the last two weeks to try keep this thing afloat, we've never seen them (iirc) engage this way before which spells trouble (imo). Maybe it's for the best, I enjoyed the Bay Transformers and I think what the franchise needs now is a bit of a rest for a couple of years and to come back with a new studio, direction, writer and crew. Fashion a new tv series headed by characters that haven't seen much use in the past and sprinkle some new ones in. That's how you sell to a new audience and keep the old one happy.

That's why Sheri wants to fire dead weight hacks like Kurtzman when she finally gets her CBS-Paramount merger.

You know Paramount is desperate right now. They NEED more Transformers movies to stay afloat. Also not sure what stuff the writer did that you're referring to, so can't comment on that.

Sorry to ignore your rant, but you're wrong. It made a profit and it was the only film that had critical and fan respect. That's all Paramount and Hasbro wanted or needed. You might want it to give you a back rub and do your taxes when it was all done, but you aren't a stockholder or an investor. You're just a guy on a message board that no one has ever heard of apart from the design team behind the toys. They don't pay attention to anyone here either.

I doubt they'll continue with losses.

She did a like of shite talk about feminism and basically injecting herself into movies. Kind of akin to James Roberts and his nonsense.

Still reserving judgement since I'm only going to give a damn in the event this is a full reboot and Bayformers can finally go die in a hole.

Since its been stated its NOT A REBOOT, I dont think i care about bb being successful. Now we'll have to deal with 10 more years of bayverse movies. Ugh.

Good good. I thought a total of 300 Million wouldn't have been enough for them considering how much more the last 5 movies made but this is a positive step, they clearly have faith that this can be a commercial and critical success with different writers and directors.

So let Bumblebee be a reboot, keep the G1 designs, keep the budget below ridiculous levels and let's see a Beast Wars film in the next 5 years at the latest. :D

    Awesome news to hear!!!!!

At this point it would have to be a reboot as it wok. Also I think they will focus on smaller budget movies which I am totally okay with as it means they have to focus on plot.
