That’s a version made on the 19th of September 2017. Although I wonder if the person reading it is reading an L as and I (L would be December).

Yes, so mine was made on November 23 2017. Whether yours was made in September or December, it's definitely the 2nd run.

 

Does the second version still have the issue of the silencer being too tight and scraping paint off of the barrel? I still regret testing my V1 and finding out it was too tight only when paint had already come off the gun barrel. Stupid.

 

Has anyone come up with a good paint match for the metallic grey used on megatron?

 

Transformed my reissue 4 times, no scratches.

 

How would I know if the item being sold is an improved re-issue?
Any distinct marking of codes on the box?

 

With help from fellow board members this is what I understand.
On the box near the bar code is an indented batch number.
The letter is the month it was made. So A is Jan, B is Feb and so on.
The next 2 numbers are the day and the final 2 numbers are the year.
So I have K2317 which translates as made Nov 23rd 2017.
I believe the 1st version was released April 2017 so any D**17 and back would be first batch.
Hope that makes sense.

 

Any first batchers that want a second batch mp36 let me know. I'm still looking for that green face

 

It was too tight on my second batch copy. I didn't scrap the paint because I unscrewed the barrel extension/silencer assembly for taking it off.


It's a real pity because it was the only serious issue with it. All other paint scratches were on edges that sit out of the view in both modes.

No problem.
I can't be 100% sure but as V1 was released April 2017, anything after that should be V2.
To be safe, anything close to the V2 release of February 2018 should definitely be V2.

 

I'll be on the lookout for that indented number beside the bar code.
So we have a safe baseline guide of B**18 onwards as a reference.

Still looking for someone with V1 Megs that is willing to trade the main face for V2 (no green tint, more accurate to the cartoon and Megs' grey) or sell for cash.

I like the face plate with a slight green tint to it (version 1). My face plates are mint.

 

Am I color blind? I have a V1 and I see no green tint.

Hmmm, I can see the tint being slightly different, but not sure I can make it out as greenish. Maybe it's a lighting thing.

 

Thankfully I don't!

 

Whatever color tint it has, I do also prefer the variation in the V1 vs the V2.
