Any insinuation that we are part of the Transformers deep state is factually baseless and completely fabricated...

    TFW staff meeting:

Who wants to be a toy board mod?

Who bans people when the fighting won't stop?

Who keeps Battletrap UP ON TOP????

I bought him at lunchtime today! His bot mode articulation is great (rotors and jet intakes get in the way a bit, though) and that chopper mode is perfect. But the best part is the clever and intuitive transformation. That's not something you can fully appreciate without having him in hand. It is complex enough to satisfy and simple enough to not be too fiddly. Nice choice!

Too bad LG-EX Grand Maximus missed the list. He's superior to all releases of TR/LG Fort Max in terms of paint, solves the LG sealed-leg issue and has Masterforce electronics - making him the best release of the mold, hands down. I know his price is cost prohibitive - which may be the primary reason he got the short stick here. No one (or very few) probably from the staff owns him!

I will save this pic for the posterity. If one day I fee sad and devastated, I will open the file to recover my happiness and to laugh for 2 hours.

Excellent! Glad you like him. Like you said, it definitely is a figure you do not appreciate until you play with him

LOL, yeah me too. Extreme-end-of-2018 toy runner up for me :D

Other runner up's for me are Siege Hound and POTP Beachcomber (mid-thigh swivel?! crazy!). Big winner is Siege Sideswipe.

I'm not gonna complain about the high price point of mp dinobot, but would love to get more beast wars love in the mainlines. Instead of one or 2 every few years amongst the unstoppable horde of g1.

On my short list of figures to get. Don't recall anyone else really talking about getting one.

That said, I think people can tell our Staff is very varied and has a wide range of what we like. I'm almost exclusively a Masterpiece/3rd party Masterpiece-styled collector; others are more into the mainline figures.

Mp41. I think those animals are harder for designing than the vehicles.

Still haven't seen any Siege voyagers, let alone Ultra Magnus. My metro area is still recovering from the holidays.

As far as the chosen tfw2005 favorites, if they were trying at all to be somewhat objective, I'm very surprised to see Both Nemesis Prime and Optimus Primal.

Punch-Counterpunch definitely gets my vote, bought two of him.

What about the officially licensed but non-transforming, like Generations Mega Action Series 02 Megatron?

well... I got Sixshot in February of 2017, so he's not on my list for 2018. He didn't even make the runners up for me for 2017, and I love that toy. His remold as Greatshot made my list this year though.

I really need to open mine. Got him a few months ago, just before moving, and left him in box until after I moved... That was nearly three months ago now...

I think a lot of praise goes to bigger toys. In my opinion figures like Beachcomber and Slash do not get enough credit. They are great figures.

my favorite TF of 2018 is...
    POTP (Leader Class) Optimal Optimus.

i think pound-for-pound, it was the best all around figure of 2018. my pick is based on...

    -overall look
    -functionality
    -playability
    -gimmick
    -accessories
    -price
