This would have been a character I would love to have seen in a prequel

Sad to read this. Hope his family finds comfort, and peace.

One line given to him in Transformers, makes me laugh every time, and perhaps that's why it is the most memorable, Archibald quote to me. I like to laugh.

"... the ice is freezing faster than it's melting!"

Damn, you’re right. I knew that and made the mistake anyway. My bad. My brain mustn’t be working today.

In my defence, they did both play the same character in Doctor Who.

Man, oh man. 2019 is off to a wicked start. =\

Geez. Less than a full week (we're down to the last few hours) and the count has risen. Ugh.

Thank you for entertaining us, sir. Rest well.

As Optimus Prime once said: Do not grieve. Soon... I will be one with the Matrix.

    RIP Mr. William Morgan Sheppard.

That's really in poor taste. This is a thread delivering news and to honor the man. You could at least take that part serious for once and not turn it into a Shrek joke. I'm extremely disappointed in you, right now. Please be better than that in threads like this. Shame on you.

Try and be like this guy below:

I think you need to edit the description text a little bit (the babylon 5 reference is incorrect) W. Morgan Shepard was G'Kar's Uncle who gets ambushed by the Shadow Vessels and he was also the (1st) Soulhunter we see in Babylon 5.

He also featured in lots of other Sci Fi shows including Star Trek The Next Generation and it was Max Headroom where he played Blank Reg :

Wow. What a pointless thing to say. There's nothing wrong with what I posted. I can understand if I insulted the guy or something along those lines, but nope.

So no apologies, and take it easy. Get Shrekt!

When I pass on, I wouldn't mind people joking at my funeral. Even death has its own sense of humor, nor do I think the dead get mad about the living having a sense of humor.

So I hope Morgan Sheppard is kicking butt in the afterlife and not giving a damn about all of the pointless arguments in the fandom. Rest in peace.

And for the record, I have family members who died in genocides. I have been in cities that were in ruins because of recent wars, with buildings filled with holes from bombs and bullets. I have buried the dead. I get disgusted with the way people treat each other with their wars, genocides, murder, thievery, lies, etc. I get disgusted with how humans treat the other species we share this planet with, and by the extinctions humans have caused through malice, greed, or negligence. I also recognize that death and destruction are merely natural parts of life in this realm, regardless of one's personal beliefs. So with that said, I really don't appreciate being told, "Shame on you," over such a thing as being light-hearted. Like Yoda said, "Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force."

    What I even reading here.

I mean, using the death of family in genocides to defend your right to make shitty tired shrek puns just because somebody called you out on it on the internet?

    Like, what the actual fuck?

Not gonna lie...I think you might need professional help if you are feeling this confrontational over somebody saying something bad about fucking Shrek on the internet, where Shrek has been dead for over a decade.

Congratulations on saying absolutely nothing of substance and having no idea what you're talking about, as usually is the case for you. I don't know if you're just a dishonest person who intentionally twists what other fans say, or if you genuinely have some sort of learning disability or challenge with reading comprehension or what. If one of the latter is the case, then there's no shame in that case.

The point is, I've been around death. I can and do respect the dead, and I don't think having a more light-hearted approach towards death is being disrespectful, especially when members are saying "No Sacrifice, no victory." What I said wasn't that different. Those members weren't mocking his death by making posts based on quotes from a Transformers movie, and neither was I. There's no need to bring "shame" into such a conversation to begin with. Go back in this thread, and you'll see the one being confrontational was not me.

Dude, as far as I can tell, you made a shrek pun, somebody called you out for it, and then you respond by launching into some mini-rant about how you're justified in making shrek puns because you've somehow experienced a lot involving death.

Like...we don't need the TMI edition defense. It was a joke, all you had to say was you didn't regard death in the same way as the other guy and that was it. Instead, you list off some terrible real life experiences as if you need to defend sticking 'Shrek' into a phrase like you're somehow entitled to making stale Shrek jokes in threads about dead people.

So what you're saying is, it was a misunderstanding because your stance on the matter is different than his, but instead of simply clarifying the difference, you go full bore and attack him by going on about how 'pointless' his post is, and then throwing up how you've experienced so much involving death and apparently man's inhumanity to man or whatever as justification for your stance, when you didn't need to clarify that at all to begin with.

Plus, if you were dropping lines like 'get shrekt' in-person at a funeral, I think you would garner much the same response as you did earlier.

This is not normally how you've reacted in the past, even when I'm dropping some truly blue language accusations at AoE which is usually how we interact. I mean, here you are passive-agressively suggesting that I have a mental disorder because I expressed confusion as to why anybody would need to bring up their exposure to horrible things to defend a possibly-seen-as-insensitive remark - you've never crossed that line in the innumerable arguments we've had over AoE.
