Was just about to ask that too.
If it is, do you happen to have a G1 original or another reissue to compare it too?
From the picture the blue seems like it might be a bit lighter, a la the Encore reissue. But it's hard to say for sure.

T2 is the stamp on the trailer hitch. 3 is the common run for Optimus in 1985. The number three is printed on the inside of his legs throughout the trailer and on his fist.

Does anyone know how common it is for G1 figures to be found used without stickers?

(adds Ben Franklin to the price list) That's the cheapest price I've seen on a Metroplex. Got any others of note on larger or later figures? If they're Lionel pricetags, those look to encode month/year (at least when it first went on sale or got some revision), which I've been trying to use to get timeframes on when promotions (iron-on patch, decoy, movie posters) or other things (Seacon bubble change), as well as their first release occurred. Kay-Bee definately encoded the year on their pricetags, then added the month too, but unfortunately that was post G1. K-Mart might have some month/year coding too. Some numbers are nonsensical, but x86, x87, x85, etc keep coming up on the relevant figures often enough. It would be cool if TRU, the most common pricetag, encoded such information but alas, cataloging it, I see no pattern beyond encoding the case assortment in the numbers on the tag, although there is a dynamic element on it that changes even as the case assortment and product code remains the same, it just doesn't conform to a 12 month pattern.

Transformers G1 & GI Joe were light years beyond everything else. Beast Wars had some nice elements, some mediocre elements. It got worse for Beast Machines. RID had a sharper look, but the trilingual cost-saving cheapness made the packages look ugly and consumed space that could've been used for profiles & tech specs on many figures. Seems like it took til Cybertron for packaging to really improve. GI Joe's art presentation on the front, big checklist of figures on the back, and filecard was awesome too. It's crazy to think what they got right in the 1980s they got wrong in the 1990s or in G1's case, in the later '80s. The loss or minimalization of the art (in Beast Wars's case) was the thing I disliked the most in how toy packaging evolved over time. They used to put so much more effort into the packaging by comparison.

I don't know if this has been posted here before, but here are pics of the vintage Japanese Scramble City VS catalog. The artwork is really cool. Does anybody know if it was featured anywhere else or was it done specifically for this catalog? IMG_20190108_024135.jpg IMG_20190108_024048.jpg

I know he's not technically G1, but I'm happy I got Siege Shockwave for this reason:
He may be small for a Leader Class figure, but he's definitely G1 Leader-sized.

At last, he and Megatron can see eye-to-eye(s)...

Or, go mano-a-mano with Prime, like in issue 12...

Sorry to see you finishing the TF Source articles. They've been a regular read over the last few years and really enjoyed them and the collectors interviews. Couldn't believe seeing Sunstreaker in the Sideswipe Box. I remember getting that as a kid and being a bit confused at the time. If only past me had kept hold of it.

    Regards

Looks to me like he became a headmaster, and needed a ride.
