I was hoping that without the armor, Siege Shockwave would be displayed with CW leader Megs and TR Soundwave. that is definitely not the case. Siege Shockwave without the armor is borderline a large deluxe, only going up to TR soundwaves waist in terms of height Just a word of warning since these are quote unquote labeled as generations leaders
For some reason I thought these were gonna be $89.99 up here, $69.99 is a bit better. Canadian prices are always higher then US prices. It comes down to the exchange rate and we are always told that because there is a smaller population over a large amount of area it costs more for us to have nice things. For example a $10 LEGO set in the USA is $20 in Canada. Hasbro works the same way. I think Funko is really the only company that basically charges the Canadian dollar equivalent. So like a $10 figure is $12-$13 here. I saw these in Ottawa on Thursday at EB. Magnus is the better of the two. Shockwave is tiny. Considered getting them but for $160 after tax I decided that money would be better spent towards a second DX VF-1J Valkyrie.
I checked my Target in SoCal. They got some Battlemasters and Micro Masters, but no Deluxes, Voyagers, or Leaders.
Hes the size of a small voyager. Which is a shame, considering this is the only thing we can get from a Hasbro Shockwave in a very long time.
I'll probably still get him, mostly for the kickass alt mode. The bot mode (to me) is trumped by the Cyber Battalion Walgreen's Shockwave.
Hell yay! The one of the reasons I got him, Walgreens, but like you, I'm getting Siege one for alt mode.
Yeah, Siege Shockwave is one of the few figs I was considering skipping (most of the Siege line is insta-buys for me and I have Sideswipe and Hound so far) since I saw his bot mode first with the armor attached. On it's own w/out the armor, he looks a lot better but I didn't know it could detach back when pics started circulating. But when I saw the alt mode I was floored. "Okay, yeah, I want this."
Saw this guy at WalMart earlier but wasn't interested in him. I was too busy looking around for Ultra Magnus, lol
Oh wow, fuuuuuuuck that then. I was so impressed with these designs and first waves character choices that I was convinced that this would be the first retail line I bothered buying again since Animated or the first wave of Prime. But no way. Not at $70 for "Leaders" that are now basically the size of small Voyagers. Even $50 would be pushing it. Haha If I'm going to pay ridiculous always-getting-higher prices, I'll just stick with the Masterpieces and select 3P's then.
Well, if you've got one of the EB Platinum cards, it takes out a bit of the sting. The 10% discount on toys you get from it is something I've definitely gotten my money's worth with.
