I will be severely disappointed if that Soundwave concept isn\'t carried over and expanded on in a Studio Series figure... Just imagine A-Team like van with that Mural on it, that then turns into the Soundwave we saw in the Bumblebee Movie...

Also predicting a possible upcoming hot 3rd party addon/shapeways item. A Rotorstorm head to replace Igniter Dropkick\'s so those can add one to their Wreckers shelf.

These mostly look better than the first couple of waves, though they should\'ve just gone with black or red on Ironhide. Dropkick and Blitzwing look really good; it\'s kind of funny how they\'ve used Bayverse designs for everyone other than the main four characters, but Soundwave gets properly G1ed (it\'s also amusing that they went to the effort with that tampo on the vehicle mode but the windows are left unpainted...)

The added touch of Soundwave's ignitor block being a boombox is much appreciated. They don't have to do stuff like that, but they choose to.

See, that Ironhide and Ratchet are what I want to see from the movieverse. A blend of the G1 and Bay aesthetics. I'd love to have SS versions of those designs, but I doubt that'll ever happen. Only thing I don't really care for is Ratchet's green...

Also, pretty cool looking Soundwave. Always preferred 'Wave as a big, blocky vehicle.

They're not really a blend of aesthetics though, they're just Bayverse designs in G1-ish colours. Even the Optimus figures are based on his Evasion mode rather than the new design.

Talking of G1 colours, one of the things I've always noticed is that the popular early Autobot characters are largely red or white, which I guess is why they changed colours for some of them in the movies, to add some visual variety) and here we have a line where half the Autobot characters are red (I'm sure it's just me that's bothered by that lol)

This. They're Bayverse designs with the eighties vehicle shells, not any "blend" of different aesthetics.

Blend of aesthetics were the Cybertron battle scenes from the BB movie.

As ridiculous as the van looks, that Soundwave does look pretty badass. I almost wouldn't mind if it was turned into a Studio Series figure just for shits and giggles. Definitely gonna grab it when I get the chance.

Ugh   these are horrible , using a big block of plastic for what a single small button could do and need less space to do it most likely.

Soundwave has some cool ideas like the engine block shaped like a boombox and the sleek design and cool van art homaging his two animal friends. Just wish we got a better version of this design as a deluxe or something.

We got the Siege Soundwave at least.

I know this is the reverse of what we've been griping about around here lately because of Studio Series and Siege, but I wish these were smaller! The only movie toys I've purchased were a few Legion sized guys for my desk and I would be thrilled to have these versions of Ratchet, Ironhide, and Soundwave at that size to go with Prime, Bumblebee, and Hot Rod.

Dropkick looks AWESOME, a blast from the 80s! A must have!

Not Starscream doesn't look bad but prefer Dropkick. Loves the 80s style but I will wait for a sale to get him.

I get that these aren't designed for the collectors market, and are just for kids, but I feel like that's an insult towards kids. Dropkick and Blitzwing have definitely fared the best here, but the rest look like a knock off I'd see somewhere like poundland or B&M bargains.
Agree on that whole heartedly, though. Would love to get a few better quality Soundwaves with that van design

Then again kids also love playing with diecast Hot Wheels that cost like $4 and wooden trains that cost anywhere from 10-15 per car.

I just don't think poor quality can be excused because it's for kids. Children will accept bad quality stuff blindly if that's all they're given. I feel like hot wheels and wooden trains are a poor example, though, because at least they're generally well made.

That's the third time you've posted those watermarked sideways collages in this thread. Clearly nobody cares for that nonsense anymore.
